Meet our girl Velvet, better known on the racecourse as Aldente.

Her racing career was cut short by injury, but nearly three years ago she came into our lives and started a completely new chapter.

Velvet had never done anything other than race, currently she is learning both dressage and jumping. Everything we do is very much at a low level, but she’s taken to it brilliantly. Most importantly, she’s enjoying herself and has a real purpose again. ❤️

Their racing days may be over, but their stories don’t have to be. There really is life after racing. 🐎

What a fantastic couple, and what an incredible setting for them to celebrate their wedding.

From the beautiful church ceremony to the celebrations afterwards. It was an absolute pleasure to be there and capture the laughter, little moments, emotions and everything in between.

A lovely celebration bringing two families together and creating memories that will last a lifetime. 📸

A little bit of light chasing around York this evening, with only the iPhone 16 Pro in hand. I’ve really enjoyed scouting the area and finding different angles and compositions. Definitely a location I’ll be returning to with the camera when I have more time! 📸

Yesterday my wife and I had the best day out at LordingtonLavender visiting the lavender fields. 💜

It was supposed to be a non camera day… but try telling a photographer that! 😂📷

Sarah is really camera shy and always swerves having her photo taken, but she kindly agreed to be my model for a little while.

The midday sun was definitely a challenge! The glare was so bad at times I genuinely couldn’t see the back of the camera to check focus, so a few shots missed here and there. That’s all part and parcel though. I couldn’t help thinking how incredible this location would be at golden hour!

I’m really chuffed with how these turned out, especially given the harsh midday light. I also had my first go at an in camera double exposure. Safe to say, I’ll definitely be trying that again!

If you haven’t visited this location before, I’d highly recommend it. 💜
