Rough around the edges — and that’s exactly what makes it so photogenic.

From the textures and shapes of the rocks in the foreground to the rolling green landscape, blue sea and clouds stretching across the sky, this view has a little bit of everything. 🌿🌊

🌅 Sunset over Rathlin Island

The sky completely stole the show on this evening — shades of orange, pink and blue breaking through the layers of cloud and reflecting beautifully across the calm water. 🌊

I loved all the different textures in this shot, from the soft clouds and still water to the rugged coastline and rocky shoreline stretching around the front of the bay. The last of the golden light brought everything together and really showed off all the different layers in the scene. 📸

Rathlin definitely saved one of its best views until the end of the day. 🌅

🌊 Moody skies over Rathlin Island

There’s something about Rathlin that looks just as good under dark, dramatic skies as it does in the sunshine. ☁️
I loved this scene — the rugged coastline, the little beacon standing out against the water and the old path leading your eye straight through the shot. The heavy clouds just added to the atmosphere and made the whole scene feel that little bit more dramatic. 📸

Definitely one of those shots that proves you don’t always need perfect weather to come away with a photo you love.
