The pure and natural beauty that woodlands contain is something that I can't put into words. Hopefully these pictures can help with that.

I stopped off at St. Paul's church at Tartaraghan this afternoon to take some photos of their wonderful sunflower field.
Nothing better to brighten up a dull day than a field of happy yellow sunflowers.
I believe it is still open this weekend so if you haven't been, call up. There are a few suspicious looking characters pictured here too, so keep an eye out for them!

The Beaghmore Stone Circles.

Located in County Tyrone's Sperrin Mountains, these stone circles are an Early Bronze Age complex of seven circles, cairns, and stone alignments that were uncovered in the 1940s during peat cutting. The site dates to between 2000 and 1200 BCE, though evidence of Neolithic farming and earlier ritual activity going back to 2900 BCE has also been found beneath the stones.

The purpose of these mysterious stone structures is not definitively known, but archaeologists speculate they were used for astronomical observations, rituals, and burials.
Alignments of the stones correspond to the summer solstice and lunar movements, indicating the early inhabitants had a sophisticated understanding of the cosmos.

Ultimately, the circles were abandoned around 1200 BCE, likely due to a wetter climate leading to the bog overtaking the land, preserving the site for discovery millennia later.

I love the evening fog that rolls in out here in the late summer, early autumn. It seems to appear out of nowhere and then disappear mysteriously and just as quickly. 😶‍🌫️

It's been interesting to watch the growth of this field just across the road from our house over the spring and summer. It's nearly time for it to be harvested too.

Sorry for another lot of moon shots but I heard our kids shouting "wow, look at the moon" last night and couldn't resist taking another load of shots as its orange glow emerged through the atmosphere.

I'm glad I did though, as there'll be no chance of seeing it tonight!
