A whole year already.

Last time I saw this family, we were celebrating big brother’s first birthday. This time, it was little brother’s turn.

One of the loveliest parts of my job is being invited back to capture another chapter of a family’s story. Watching families grow, welcoming new little faces, and seeing siblings take on their roles as proud big brothers is such a privilege.

Despite the grey skies and a bit of wind, this session was full of everything that matters most — cuddles, laughter, sandy fingers, and two boys completely lost in their own little adventures.

Because the truth is, family photos aren’t really about getting everyone to look at the camera.

They’re about remembering this season exactly as it felt.

The way they held your hand.
The way they made you laugh.
The way they needed carrying one minute and were running off the next.

And somehow, in the blink of an eye, that tiny baby is turning one.

✨ Thank you for asking me back to capture another milestone for your beautiful family. It means the world.

This photo feels a world away from this week.

The reality right now is that I’m at home with my little sidekick who’s been hit by a sickness bug, which means the week has looked a little different to how I planned.

Meetings have been moved, emails have taken longer to reply to, and the to-do list is definitely not getting ticked off at its usual pace.

But one thing motherhood has taught me, both in life and in business, is flexibility.

Sometimes you can have the most organised week mapped out, and then life has other ideas.

So this week, I’m swapping productivity for cuddles, screens for rest, and reminding myself that not every week has to be about getting ahead.

The work will still be there when he’s feeling better.

For now, we’re taking it one day at a time.

Last month, I finally did something I’m always telling my clients to do… I got in the photos.

As photographers, it’s so easy to hide behind the camera. We’re constantly documenting everyone else’s memories, but somehow putting ourselves in front of the lens always ends up at the bottom of the to-do list.

So last month, I handed over control and spent an evening with my boys, making memories instead of capturing them.

I love, love, love these photos.

Looking through them has been such a reminder of why family photos matter so much. Not because everything was perfect (it definitely wasn’t), but because they capture us exactly as we are in this season. The cuddles, the silliness, the hand-holding, and all those little things that change far too quickly.

One of my absolute favourites is the close-up of Bowie. He definitely isn’t the child who loves having his photo taken, so the fact Sophie captured such a beautiful, natural portrait of him feels really special. It’s just gorgeous, and one of those images I know I’ll treasure forever.

A huge thank you to for these. She has such a lovely way about her and somehow managed to make all of us completely relax and actually enjoy the experience. Nothing felt forced or awkward, and I think that’s exactly why the photos feel so much like us.

I know so many mums put off booking photos because they want to lose weight, wait until life feels less busy, or feel a bit more like themselves again. But honestly, your children don’t see any of those things. They just see you.

And one day they’ll be so grateful to have photos with you in them. šŸ¤Ž

This is something I wish someone had told me years ago.

I spent so much time thinking I needed to improve before I could charge properly.

A bigger portfolio.
More experience.
More confidence.
More validation from other people.

But every time I reached a milestone, I found another reason not to raise my prices.

The truth was never about my photography.

It was about my self-belief.

Looking back, every big leap in my business happened before I felt ready. I didn’t start mentoring because I felt like an expert. I didn’t launch a podcast because I felt confident. I didn’t raise my prices because I suddenly felt worthy.

I did those things because I knew staying where I was wasn’t getting me where I wanted to go.

And every single time, confidence followed action.

If you’re sat on pricing that’s too low, waiting for the magical moment you finally feel ready… this is your reminder that it probably isn’t coming.

Sometimes the next level of your business starts with backing yourself a little more than feels comfortable.

If this is something you’re struggling with, it’s exactly the kind of thing we work through in my mentoring sessions. Sometimes you don’t need another course or preset—you just need someone to help you see your value and make a plan for what’s next.

Send me a DM with MENTORING and let’s chat. ✨

Just me, a cup of tea and a few tarot cards in my office this morning.

I don’t use tarot to predict the future. I use it in the same way I journal — to slow down, reflect and tune into my intuition.

Most of the time the answers are already there. I just need to stop long enough to hear them.

Anyone else love a little bit of woo? ✨

I genuinely cannot believe I’m saying this…

My latest mini session launch sold out in less than 12 hours. 🤯

Not because I have a massive audience.
Not because I ran ads.
Not because I got lucky.

It happened because I spent the month beforehand building excitement.

And that’s the bit I see so many photographers skipping.

You don’t need to be posting ā€œBOOK NOW!ā€ every day.

You just need a plan.

A way to get people excited, talking about the sessions, saving the date and counting down until bookings open.

So I’ve taken the exact process I use and turned it into a free 30 Day Mini Session Content Plan.

Thirty days of content ideas designed to help you stop guessing what to post and start creating demand for your mini sessions before launch day even arrives.

Because let’s be honest… sitting there the night before launch wondering where all the enquiries are isn’t fun. I’ve been there.

If you want a copy, comment MINIS below and I’ll send it over.

I’d love to know if it helps you fill your next launch too.

I don’t want your photos to feel like a photoshoot.

I want them to feel like home.

Like the way your toddler reaches for your hand without thinking.

The way your baby melts into your shoulder.

The laughter, the cuddles, the chaos, the little moments that make up your everyday life.

Because years from now, I don’t think you’ll look back and remember whether everyone was smiling at the camera.

You’ll remember how it felt.

That’s why my sessions are relaxed, prompted rather than posed, and focused on connection over perfection.

I want you to leave with photographs that feel like your family - not a photoshoot.

My latest mini session launch sold out in less than 12 hours.

Not because I have a huge following.
Not because I spent money on ads.
Not because I got lucky.

It sold out because I spent the month before launch building anticipation.

Most photographers focus on what happens on launch day, but the truth is your mini sessions are usually sold before you ever open bookings.

The content you post in the weeks leading up to your launch matters far more than the launch itself.

That’s why I’ve put together my free 30 Day Mini Session Content Plan.

Inside you’ll find 30 days of content ideas designed to help you build excitement, create demand and fill your mini sessions without feeling salesy or constantly wondering what to post next.

Comment MINIS below and I’ll send it over.

A little June intention setting…

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about balance. Not the perfect kind that everyone talks about, but the kind where life actually feels good.

This month I’m trying to prioritise:

• Spending more time working on my business instead of constantly being in the day-to-day. I’ve got lots of ideas for The Lifted Lens and some things I’m really excited to create.

• Running and getting outside. I always feel better when I’ve moved my body and had some fresh air, even if I don’t always feel like doing it beforehand.

• Proper play time with the boys. Not answering emails while they’re playing. Not thinking about my to-do list. Just being present.

• More fun. Beach days, little adventures, saying yes to things and making the most of the summer.

• Looking after myself without feeling guilty about it.

• Enjoying this season of life instead of always thinking about what’s next.

One thing I’ve realised recently is that I’m actually finding a much better balance than I used to. And weirdly, I’m trying really hard not to feel guilty about that.

For so long I think I associated being successful with being stressed, busy and overwhelmed all the time.

But right now I’m learning that things can be going well without everything feeling hard.

And honestly? I’d quite like more of that this month šŸ¤Ž

Mini sessions are not the problem.
Launching them in a blind panic a week before probably is šŸ˜…

I see so many photographers leaving it too late, posting a couple of ā€œbooking now open!ā€ graphics, and then wondering why the response feels a bit meh.

Mini sessions can be SUCH a brilliant income boost when they’re planned properly.

So I’ve put together a free 30-day mini session content plan for photographers with a full month of content prompts to help you actually market them without staring at your phone wondering what to post.

It’s practical, simple, and genuinely the kind of freebie I wish someone had handed me years ago.

Comment MINI and I’ll send you the link šŸ¤
