I’m excited to share the launch of my new photography website!

Whether you’re looking for professional headshots, family portraits, creative editorial imagery, event coverage, or something a little more cinematic, you’ll now find a selection of my work all in one place.

Photography has become a huge part of my life over the past few years, and this website is a chance to showcase the images, stories, and people I’ve had the privilege to photograph along the way.

I’d love for you to take a look and let me know what you think.

Slight Change in My Branding

A few clients have mentioned that having everything under The Photoshop Guy can be a little confusing, particularly when it comes to my photography and videography work, and I completely agree.

A few years ago I genuinely considered stepping away from photography and video to focus solely on photo editing. But I’ve never been able to let it go. Photography is very much part of who I am, and I still get a huge amount of enjoyment from the projects I take on and the people I meet through them.

So rather than trying to fit everything under one umbrella, I’ve decided it makes more sense to separate things clearly into two distinct areas.

Stephen Davies - Photos & Video

Photography for commercial and creative projects
Videography and content creation
Wedding Photography
Event coverage and visual storytelling
Location based shoots and collaborations

Stephen Davies - The Photoshop Guy

Professional photo editing and retouching
Object removal and image clean up
Background replacement and compositing
Restoration and enhancement work
Remote live editing sessions

Going forward, this will help keep everything clearer and more focused for both clients and followers, while allowing each side of the work to stand on its own.

In the fading light of a forgotten age, she stands between mourning and memory.

Veiled in black lace and shadow, a figure drawn from another century, where grief was worn as elegantly as silk and every photograph carried the weight of a thousand unspoken words.

Victorian mourning was never merely about loss. It was devotion made visible. Love lingering long after the final goodbye.

A moment suspended in time.

A ghost story written in candlelight.

A portrait of beauty found within darkness.

A few images from my most recent shoot.

This session was a little different for me. As two of the models were completely new, so a big part of the shoot was helping them feel comfortable in front of the camera while creating a variety of strong portfolio images.

What impressed me most was how quickly they grew in confidence throughout the session. Watching someone arrive nervous and leave feeling proud of what they’ve achieved is one of the most rewarding parts of photography.

We explored a range of looks, expressions, focusing on creating clean, professional images that showcase potential rather than heavy styling or editing.

Also getting to work with the absolute trooper that is Megan. Running on very little sleep after completing a run of shows, a morning shoot and then straight over to us. Oh to be young and have that energy.

A huge thank you to Stephen Davies - The Photoshop Guy for inviting me along as well to the equally fabulous Emma Jayne Wellington.

A few frames from my first proper gig photography. Massive thank you to Stephen Davies - The Photoshop Guy for inviting me along. Also to the incredible Soulskunks for giving the opportunity.

There’s something I love about shooting live music in small venues. No pit, no photo pass, no perfect lighting setup. Just musicians giving everything they’ve got, packed into a room full of energy, noise, and people having a great time.

These were taken during a ska set in a Swigg Swansea, where the challenge was working in tight spaces, changing light, and constantly moving performers. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to react rather than overthink.

I’m particularly pleased with the expressions, the interaction between the band members, and some of the candid moments that really capture the atmosphere of the afternoon.

Definitely a genre I’d like to explore more.

A few reflections from a recent shoot.

First time experimenting with reflections and symmetry, using glass to create images that feel a little more introspective and cinematic. Rather than relying on elaborate locations or props, the aim was to find something interesting in a simple moment and let the model’s expression do the storytelling.

Sometimes the strongest images come from slowing down, looking for shapes, lines and light that others might walk past.

Which shot is your favourite? the close-up portraits or the wider compositions?

Models: Thank you both for bringing such a calm, thoughtful energy to the shoot.

📸 A few moments from a recent portrait session.

One of the things I enjoy most about photography is finding the balance between natural light, genuine expression, and a location that adds a little character to the image.

These portraits were created using the colours and textures already present in the environment, letting the models take centre stage while keeping the feel relaxed and authentic.

Portrait photography doesn’t always need elaborate setups. Sometimes it’s simply about good light, a great location, and creating an atmosphere where people can be themselves.

📸 Last-Minute TFP Shoot – Friday (Noir / Neo-Noir Theme)

I’ve had a cancellation for this Friday, so I have a last-minute TFP shoot available if anyone would like to collaborate.

The concept is Noir / Neo-Noir inspired — think dramatic lighting, deep shadows, cinematic atmosphere, and classic film-noir aesthetics. Expect something moody, stylised and storytelling-focused.

Open to models of any experience level who are comfortable with a darker, cinematic style. Wardrobe ideas could include things like classic black outfits, coats, hats, or anything with a timeless / mysterious vibe.

📍 Location: Pontypool
🕒 Time: Friday (time flexible)
📷 TFP – images delivered for portfolio use.

If you’re interested, drop me a message with and we can chat about the concept.

Feel free to share with anyone who might be interested.
