Bumblebee (Bombus lucorum)
A humble bumble enjoying some nectar on a overcast yet humid morning. If you zoom in on the bee you’ll notice it’s tongue entering the flower. Initially the background of this composition was a blurry pattern of pinks and greens, but by adjusting the aperture to f/8 the forms of other flowers in the background become visible, which I think I like more.

Taxonomic note: identified as B. lucorum, but could easily be a misidentification of B. terrestris, a similar sized animal in the same genus. Based on white colour of tail, but could be a male or worker bee of B. terrestris. There is also a possibly it is a member of a localised British population of B. soroeensis ssp. based on the break in yellow colouration on the 2nd abdominal segment.
