Yesterday was our final wedding of 2026.
And...Our final wedding.
I'm afraid I have been holding onto some news for a while now and have been waiting until our final wedding was safely in the bag before making any announcements as I didnt want to cause any panic. The decision has been hard and I feel it's best to go now - while you still want to book me and not because we are past it 🤣.
A few years ago opportunity knocked and a new pathway opened up for me. My "retirement" plans formed a little quicker than I imagined and as a result I have been retraining as a registrar. As we know I love working with people and it seemed a natural sidestep - still sort of in the industry but with less back pain and inevitable arthritis. The sidestep became more of a firm plant when a job to be a fully fledged registrar came up and with such an amazing and well settled team at Plymouth Registration Service I couldnt take the risk and not apply because there might not be another position for 10 years else 🤣. I have a lovely work family, am building a pension, get sick pay - and holidays!
It has been an amazing 10+ years. We have recorded the memories of over 200 couples (i am going to count - i need to know how many exactly). I've been published, won awards, been on the front cover of magazines. But mostly - I've been honoured to be the one chosen and trusted to capture your days.
Editing is still happening - weddings are still on track to be delivered on time 👍. Albums are being chosen and designed 👍.
Nothing service wise will change. I just wanted to let people know.
Things will change in the next few months as I wind everything down but I will keep everyone updated.
Please make sure you've got your images backed up as the site will need to come down in the new year. Notice will be given. You should all have all images on your sticks and of course youve all made copies somewhere safe already I'm sure!
This is quite long enough. I will post again before "the end" im sure but it needs putting out there officially.
Thank you so much for all your support over the years - I wouldn't have made it without you all ❤️.
And of course to my trusty sidekick Stephen Evans. Who else could compare? Thank you for your support and hard work over the years - my name over the door but always Louise AND Steve behind the bar.
Di Pidgen and Roger Pidgen for keeping everything flowing - child care and dog care all days and nights and hours under the sun. And of course in the early days for encouraging me to follow the dream and give it a go regardless of the outcome. Some of you might even recall the pre Steve days of dad being my 2nd shooter (though you will have to think pretty hard by now 🤣).
So much for finishing the post. I guess once I press send it is really officially official.
