There’s a myth that documentary wedding photography will be unflattering, won’t capture any of the aesthetics or beauty of your wedding day. Candid photography is about capturing the essence of you, not simply catching you off guard or a careless unflattering angle. It’s considered observational magic, maximising the light, the scene, composition, anticipation and foresight to capture the very best of you in all your multi-dimensional human beauty.

Woop! So pleased to have picked up a couple of awards in the latest This is Reportage round - especially proud of scooping a story award, so much harder to get than a single image as the set has to not only convey a story interesting enough to catch the judge’s eye but each image needs to be consistently strong. Thank you to the judges!

Honoured to reveal the winners of Collection 33! As ever, it was incredibly difficult to pick up an Award: From almost 14,000 images submitted across our Reportage Award (for the best individual captures) and Story Award (for a series of 15 – 20 images of a single wedding) entries, our judges for this round chose just 48 Reportage Awards and 24 Story Awards.

How about this for a ceremony spot?! Framed by the magnificent doors , Nicola & Alex’s outdoor wedding takes place with the rolling Devon hills beyond. Seeing all the spring blossom is giving me cravings for outdoor weddings, and making me think of this beautiful cherry blossom lined ceremony. We just need the weather to get onboard with the idea now hey? 😅☀️🌸🤞

How about this for a ceremony spot?! The incredible doorway leading to the magnificent Devon view beyond. Seeing all the spring flowers coming into bloom at the moment is giving me cravings for outdoor weddings and taking me back to Nicola & Alex’s cherry blossom lined wedding ceremony outside of Pynes House. We just need the weather to behave a bit better first hey? 😅 ☀️ 🌸
