One of my favorite things to capture during a session isn’t actually the new baby, it’s the look on the older sibling’s face. Becoming a big brother or sister is such a massive milestone, but I know it can also be a little overwhelming for them to share the spotlight for the first time.

When you book a session with me, I make sure your "first baby" feels like the absolute star of the show. We take the time to let them lead, to show off their new role, and to capture those sweet (and sometimes hilariously chaotic) moments of them realizing they have a friend for life. I want them to walk away from our shoot feeling like the most important person in the room.

I was looking at some newborn photos today and it’s just incredible how much can change in a matter of days. One minute they have those tiny, paper-thin fingernails and that specific newborn curl, and the next, they’re filling out, finding their voice, and looking like a completely different little human.

The "newness" of a baby is so beautiful, but it’s also so fleeting. Those first few weeks and months are a whirlwind, and before you know it, those tiny details you promised yourself you’d never forget start to soften. That’s exactly why I’m so passionate about getting these moments on camera right now, not "someday" when things feel less busy or more settled.

You know, I’ve realized lately that the biggest thing holding people back from booking a session isn't a lack of interest, it's usually the "all at once" price tag. And honestly, I totally get that. We’re all out here balancing real life, and sometimes it feels like you have to choose between a big investment and the photos you really want.

I don’t want you to have to choose. I truly believe these memories are worth having right now, while the kids are still this small or while this chapter of your life is still unfolding. There is nothing quite like the "new baby" fog, the tiny sighs, the velvet-soft skin, and those delicious folds that I could spend all day photographing. Today is all about celebrating the biggest loves in our lives, no matter how small they are.

And then there were three.

There is something so incredibly moving about watching older brothers meet their new sibling in the studio. The gentle (and sometimes not-so-gentle!) pats, the curious whispers, and that instant sense of protection.

Hazel is one lucky little sister to have these two watching over her. My studio is a space where brothers can be brothers, we don't do stiff posing here. We just let them admire their new best friend, and I capture the magic that follows.
