I've always loved taking photos, as a young girl I would snap away hundreds of photos on my cheap purple wind-on camera - a cranky free gift from Avon, I'd whip out the film and send it off in one of those Truprint envelopes, then wait impatiently for its return in print form...nine times out of ten I'd cut the dog's head off, everyone in the picture had red eye and the view of the hill looked ver
y much less impressive in print - but I just loved the whole process. Time has moved on, but I still love taking photos, I don't chop people's head's off anymore, which is a bonus, technology means there's no red eye and the hill in the distance really does look as magnificent on the photo...oh and of course I don't have to wait two weeks to see the photos I've taken! Yep, Do I go into a high state of panic if a 'real' photographer starts talking about what f-point I'm on? Yes, very much so; I don't always shoot in raw, and although I pay for Photoshop and Lightroom, I prefer a much simpler editing program as I find it all way too technical and complicated. so here I am, this is me, a very non technical photographer. I hope my photos show that you don't necessarily need to be working in manual to take a good photo, or even grasp the relationship between aperture, shutter speed and ISO! I take photos honestly, I see things I like and I try and grab it and hold it in a picture - whether it's 'real' or just a feeling and I think I do decent job of composing a photo. These are my skills. Am I proud of them? would I trade it for the technical know-how? Definitely not! So if you are thinking of booking a photoshoot with me, and you're looking for my credentials...I have none - just my photos.
