Delighted to get this pic shortlisted in the IGPOTY (International Garden Photographer of the Year) competition, and find it was ‘highly commended’ today.
A modest bit of waste ground by an Ayrshire country road was transformed by a young gardener and his grandfather. They built the folly, inspired by a local 12th century abbey, and turned the surrounding ground into an enchanting garden which fills the summer air with scent from roses and lilies.
Big congratulations to the winners and fellow finalists, an outstanding collection of images.
