I have decided to share a page dedicated to images that have some meaning for me ...... Wildlife, Portraits, Landscape, Street, Abstract ..... the subject alone may not be the important factor ....... but the occasion that surrounded it's creation is often my key element .... or I might simply just like the final visual effect !!! I will add to it when I feel inspired or have the time ...... I hope viewing them allows you to share my pleasure in creating them !!

It was a choice this week of leaping Salmon or something much more challenging. So I went to try and photograph one from my bucket list ... a wild Goshawk. These are notoriously difficult to capture, they are woodland birds with short wings and long tails to enable them to perform phenomenal aerobatics through our forests to capture other birds and small mammals. They are very nervous and any noise or the even slightest movement in a hide .... and they are offski !!!
So with a meal on its plucking post I waited and for the first time this week the male made an appearance ... what a magnificent bird and it left one photographer with a huge smile !!
HOWEVER I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY BIRD IS ACTUALLY A SPARROWHAWK IMITATING A GOSHAWK ... ITS NOT ALL BAD NEWS AS IT GIVES ME AN EXCUSE TO GO BACK 👍🤣👍

A walk up the river to see if any salmon were moving up stream brought lovely dappled sunshine creeping through the trees and as a bonus a couple of salmon obliged. Perthshire will be a blaze of autumn colour shortly..

This is National Photography Day and to celebrate it I finally managed to capture a photo of a Buzzard sitting in a tree on Tuesday after literally hundreds of attempts before they depart as I try to find a suitable vantage point,stop the car or open the window for my camera !!!
To complement it a little Wren and female Wheatear before she heads back to Africa were much more obliging as the heather starts to turn purple.

We are so lucky to be able to drive along a Glen or road here in Scotland and see such superb animals wandering the hill...

Sometimes you come across a surprise scene like Frankie Dog finding a Hedgehog wandering and feeding in daylight, another Cheeky Robin or a Buttercup laden field along with some more of our small feathered friends ... all a delight to observe.
PS ... the Hedgehog disappeared safely into the undergrowth.

Our family escape up to the Moray Coast last week allowed a stop off at the Bow Fiddle Rock at Portnockie and on the downside getting everything wrong regards timing .... a midday overhead sun combined with a low tide ... however the wind and moving clouds did somewhat compensate !!
It is still a spectacular piece of coastline and I will definitely make a planned return.

My trip up to Loch Shiel looking for White Tailed Eagles was memorable for spending the whole day in typical Scottish very cold soaking rain and mist. So it was shooting in low light and high ISO's and trying to keep everything dry. However the Eagles spread along the 17 miles of the Loch side were found by skipper Aly Monsef of Loch Shiel Cruises and some could be tempted by the offer of a free fish. These birds in the winter months manly feed on wintering geese ... these really are stunning large birds.
