A little lighthearted plea from a wedding photographer, and I’m sure I speak for lots of other wedding suppliers too.
When I receive an enquiry, I never expect every single one to turn into a booking. Every couple has a different vision and different budgets, and sometimes we’re simply not the right fit, and that’s absolutely okay. But if you do decide to book someone else, a quick message to let us know honestly means the world. It doesn’t need to be a long explanation. Just a simple, ‘Thank you so much, we’ve decided to go with someone else’ is more than enough.
Wedding planning is busy, but suppliers often spend a lot of time replying to enquiries, answering questions, and sometimes even holding dates while we wait to hear back.
That little message takes just a few seconds to send, but it really does make a huge difference. It means we can update our diary, release the date for other couples, and most importantly we’re not left wondering.
No awkwardness, no hard feelings, and we’ll always wish you the most amazing wedding day, whoever you choose ✨
