Agoraphotic - Jay's Penzance Photography Hey, I’m Jay. 📸 Agoraphobia limits me, so I use photography as escape & exposure therapy. I constantly surprise myself with shots around our beautiful town.

I'm grateful to my supporters, you help guide me when I go off course. Have a lovely day.

Moonlight Reflections in the Flowing River (Part 2)

Here's a portrait shot I captured just after the previous post. I love the moonlight casting on the wet sand, and I'm pleased with the composition of this.

For the calendars. I will be going for A4, like the previous calendar. I will be starting work on it shortly. I've got a few names written down from the previous post, but if you would like some calendars when they're done, and you've not asked in the previous post to reserve, then feel free to comment below.

Have a lovely day.

Moonlight Reflections in the Flowing River

Captured this last Sunday at the Red River. I actually noticed the moonlight reflecting on the water the day before, but I didn't have my camera with me, so I made sure to come back the following night. I spent quite a bit of time trying out different compositions, but this one is definitely my favourite. The colours and the leading lines work so well together.

Also, thank you to everyone who expressed interest in calendars. Since so many of you are keen, I'm hoping to start the creation process soon. Before I get started, I’d love to know which option you would prefer:

* A3 Fold-out (£9 each or 2 for £17): An A4 booklet that opens up to A3 with full-landscape photos. Because it folds down to A4, postage costs the same as the previous A4 calendar for up to 3–4 copies (depending on final weight).

* The Previous A4 Calendar (£8 each or 2 for £15): The classic calendar layout with the photo on the top half and the calendar grid below for notes. Since it uses fewer pages, it comes in at a slightly lower price.

Please let me know your preference in the comments. Have a lovely day.

Her Final Days Past the Castle 🏰

I’ve caught the Scillonian passing St Michael's Mount before, but the lighting here was pure magic. Knowing her time on the bay is coming to an end makes capturing moments like this all the more special. It will be an emotional day when she leaves us for the last time.

A quick note on calendars: I’m hoping to do them again this year, but I’ll need to work on a pre-order basis this time around. Managing orders will be a bit tougher for me this season, so reserving in advance keeps things simple. I’m hoping to support charity with them again too. If you’d like a calendar, please let me know in the comments, and you are welcome to suggest any local causes you think are worthy.

Have a lovely day.

RNLI - Wherrytown (Final Part)

Here's the rest of the shots I caught on my telephoto lens, I love the one where the seagull is getting obliterated by the jet spray of water coming from the Lifeboat😂

Have a lovely day.

RNLI - Wherrytown (Part 3)

Definitely one of my personal favourites from this set. Love the contrast here. A lone local boat bobbing in the foreground while the Penlee RNLI lifeboat powers across Mount's Bay.

I hope you like this one. Have a lovely day.

RNLI - Wherrytown (Part 2)

Continuing from the previous post, here’s the Newlyn RNLI lifeboat speeding across Mount’s Bay. I love this shot with the Goonhilly Wind Farm in the background. As with the last photo, I’ve edited this one for a dramatic, moody feel.

Hope you like it. Have a lovely day.

RNLI - Wherrytown

This was captured about half an hour before my previous post, "Colours of Comfort." I waited patiently for them to head back this way, and it was brilliant to see them power through at high speed, jumping over the choppy waves on what looked like a training exercise.

I have been focusing on introducing more depth into my photos lately, spending hours studying techniques to push my photography further. After a period where life felt heavy, and my creativity took a back seat, I have become completely obsessed with the craft again. I am taking it much more seriously now because I know what I am capable of creating.

Sleep well and God bless.

Colours of Comfort - Wherrytown

On Wednesday, my family and I went to our late Nan's favourite place (Wherrytown) to pay our respects by throwing some flowers into the sea and enjoying some fish and chips, which she also loved. I think Nan appreciated it, as she gifted us this beautiful sight and a memory to carry for a lifetime. There have been multiple times recently when I've desperately needed Nan's help and support, as our family has been through a lot of crap lately. I miss and love you, Nan.

Have a lovely day.

Mousehole Fisherman

I've had this picture sitting around for a minute. I didn't quite know what to do with it at first, but after putting in a bit of time, I love how well it's turned out. I love that he has his head down as he walks away from his beloved boat, carrying a bucket with his huge fisherman hands. You can tell this man has a huge passion for being where he is, and it's nice to see.

Sleep well and God bless.
