Cornwall Photography Workshops And Tours

Cornwall Photography Workshops And Tours 1-2-1 Photography Tutition In Cornwall And Photography Tours, More Info On Website We are very lucky to have so many fantastic locations on our doorstep.

Cornwall is often thought of having one of the most beautiful coastlines in the British Isles. It is home to many areas of outstanding natural beauty, has a historical importance from the Tin Mining industry to the Fishing industry, and more recently became the storm central of England. Cornwall is also very popular as a filming location for television, with shows such as Poldark and Doc Martin ta

king advantage of the surrondings. Cornwall is extremely tidal and we have many locations depending on the tides and best available light on the day, these could be any of the following: Cape Cornwall, Mousehole, Newlyn, Lands End, St Ives, Godrevy Lighthouse, The Botallack Tin Mines these are just to name a few ! A half-day workshop will focus on 2 or 3 locations, depending on your preference, or if you prefer we could do 1 location and look at editing techniques after the shoot. I always strive to make my workshops about you – hence there is no set ‘agenda’. I welcome photographers of all ability levels, and the first half hour or so of any workshop will be about me working out what level you’re operating at. We will talk about composition, light, and exposure, we will also look at things like lens choice, how to use filters, and cover the basics of using your camera. All workshops are offered throughout the year at a time to suit you with the session structured around what you want to learn, they include either a sunrise or sunset shoot and are aimed at those photographers who want to shoot in the best available light; obviously we cannot predict the weather, or guarantee a perfect sunrise or sunset, but we will always try our best to get you that winning shot. They also mean the day is generally not as long, especially when combined with travel both before and after the workshop. A half day one to one workshop shoot lasts approximately 4-5 hours, sometimes longer depending on the lighting conditions and distance travelled. All workshops include email support, both before and after the workshop, a stop for breakfast on a sunrise shoot, or pasty/cake break in the afternoon on a sunset shoot. An added meal break is optional on the full day workshop, Clients to pay for there own meals and drinks. . Workshops From £75.00 For more info please get in touch. Thanks Ian

"I would recommend you have the following with you on the day"

Equipment Required - This is just a guideline only. CAMERA - A digital SLR is preferable but we may also be able to work creatively if you have a good ‘bridge’ camera. If in doubt I suggest you contact me and we can discuss. TRIPOD – For effective and creative landscape photography you really need one of these. SHUTTER RELEASE CABLE - These are quite cheap to purchase if you don’t already have one and are definitely a good idea as they lessen the chance of camera shake and blurred photo’s. DIGITAL MEMORY CARDS – Ensure you have a high capacity memory card or a good supply of smaller ones!! BATTERIES - you really don't want to run out – always have a spare if possible! CAMERA BAG – We may be walking for a mile or two so a comfortable camera bag that is easy to carry is a good idea! FILTERS – Not a requirement but something we could look at before you buy. LAPTOP – we will usually have some opportunity during the workshop to look at ‘post processing’ in photoshop, lightroom etc, so it would be a good idea to bring you laptop if you can if we are considering editing techniques, or as a back up to bad weather changes! WATERPROOFS and GOOD WALKING BOOTS are essential; wellington boots with a good tread are an excellent choice especially for those that enjoy getting wet feet!! (Bring your wellies and tripod) waterproof/windproof coat, hat, gloves (if required) any snacks or drinks you may want, spare clothing in case of bad weather. It is a good idea for you to have your own insurance, Ian Mayou Photography assumes no liability for any act, error, omission, injury, loss damage to any persons or property arising from any cause during the workshop, or transit to or from locations. Each client must except that there is always an element of risk in outdoor photography workshops and it is always up to them to be aware of risks relating to weather, tides and walking around the landscape. Ian Mayou Photography assumes no liability for any injury, illness, death, accident or loss of personal property or expenses in any way.

For a long time, landscape photographers have had a great frustration when shooting on super-wide-angle lenses: vignetting. Vignetting, or darkening of the corners, is caused when you start adding holders and filters to the front of the lens. The wider the lens, the wider the field-of-view. On super...
