Perspective is everything, sometimes, if you drop your camera closer to the ground, you'll see something both beautiful and different and the atmosphere something different and unexpected.

A beautiful sunny day from a couple weeks ago and my first trip out with my camera in nearly a year.

The Suriel

One of the most loved and favorite characters from the Acotar (A Court Of Thorns And Roses) series that pretty much anyone who has read the series will agree with.

The Suriel is a character that by definition should be feared

"An ancient, malevolent, crane like faerie creature known for revealing forbidden truths to anyone that catches it"

But despite that, it is a truly interesting and intriguing character that everyone falls in love with.

This statue represents the suriel, and next to it is a tiny teapot with cups, waiting for someone to "spill the tea" with.

Acotar is the series that got me reading again back in 2024, and I've fallen in love with reading ever since.

(I have a book page by the way 😉, you should check it out if you like to read)

Peace is finding beauty in everything, even if it isn't perfect, sometimes it's in those places/things that you find something different that others will overlook.

Boats, no matter how big or small, can take you on a journey that you would otherwise not be able to take, but they're also one of the simplest things that command your attention, if only because they make you think of the journeys they've been on and the places they've been.

locked in during this photo shoot I recently did with him.

Check out the jacket he has been putting a lot of time and dedication into creating over at if you haven't already, his mission and reasoning for making this jacket is one of the best reasons possible and it needs to be shared far and wide so people can know about it, the more people that know about it the better.

More photos of the jacket to come soon.

Here's a few shots I captured of the beautiful Lesser Antillean iguana (Iguana delicatissima) at Paignton Zoo a couple of weeks ago during a visit.

This beautiful iguana lives in the tropical trails of Paignton Zoo and I miss it most of the time I visit because it seems it hides when I'm there, but the day I took these photos, it was stood almost right next to the window as if it was waiting because it definitely caught me off guard when I saw it.

I love the photos I've taken of the various animals at the zoo over the last few years, but my favourite shots are the ones when an animal is sticking their tongue out, it looks funny and cute at the same time.

If I have the wrong name for the iguana, then I will edit the post to the correct one as soon as I know.

Here's a bundle of photos that I captured of the Ring-tailed lemurs (Lemur catta) at Paignton Zoo a few weeks ago during a visit.

These animals are absolutely beautiful to see any time of day at the zoo, but on some cloudy days, you'll find the lemurs in their house chilling and some will be sleeping, but seeing them inside was the perfect opportunity for me to try out my new rubber lens hood that when used on glass (which easily gets a reflection) it reduces the reflection to pretty much zero and these are the shots that I took using the rubber lens hood.

I really like how these shots came out despite the lightning being slightly different in some of the shots, but I really like how the rubber lens hood has helped me capture these beautiful animals.

This is one of the best shots that I took a few days ago of the beautiful Ria at Paignton Zoo.

Both of the sloths are absolutely beautiful animals and I've seen a lot of Mo since he arrived, but Ria has been harder to spot because she was in quarantine for a while, but since the zoo swapped Mo and Ria around so she could get used to the main area a bit, it's been amazing to see her, and capturing her sleeping like this after she had just had something to eat was perfect.

Watching a sunrise is a beautiful experience.

This is the last of my favourite shots that I took early on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago of the sunrise over Paignton Beach.

This was a completely spontaneous trip for me, and it's one of the best things I had done for a while, which I hope to do again as soon as the weather gets better.

On this shot I decided to use the hand rail as a focus point for the foreground to give some kind of depth and to just try something a little bit different, and I am really happy with the result.

sunrise from a different perspective can be an interesting experience.

This is another photo that I took of the sunrise a couple of weeks ago early on a Saturday morning, this time with the lensball as I hadn't used it in a while.

The lensball is honestly an amazing piece of kit that lives in my camera bag that a rarely use, so the morning I went to capture the sunrise, I decided to use it while I was there and this was the result.

Nothing beats a sunrise early in the morning.

This is one of a few sunrise shots that I took a couple of weeks ago early on a Saturday morning during a completely spontaneous moment to go and see the sunrise.

The morning I took the photos was completely worth getting up early for a s I enjoyed every second of it, I hope to try and do it again soon when the weather picks up a bit.
