These shots are my attempt at capturing the solar eclipse last week and it was hard, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Like most people, I expected the sky to go dark, but after realising it wasn't a total solar eclipse, it made sense that the sun was so bright when trying to capture some shots.

After realising that, I took the settings to the highest and lowest points that I could and I am genuinely really happy with the shots, they may not be the best, but I've still done well to get this and it's better than not trying.

The settings I had for these shots were shutter speed 1/4000, aperture f11, iso 100 and full zoom.

I took these from my front door step and a couple from the alley between mine and my neighbours house using the neighbours wall as support to keep the camera steady.

A couple really nice shots that came out a lot better than I thought they would, and the thing I like most about these is that these photos aren't edited which I love because of the little shine on the phone lines is completely natural.

First post for a while so thought I'd go with some shots of a beautiful yellow rose in my back garden.

This is the same rose taken in different orientations and slightly different angles to maximise what each shot gives and how a change of perspective can help you see things differently, and this rose looks amazing in both shots, but there's a different feeling to each one that you wouldn't see without the change in angle or perspective.

More roses to come, but thought I'd start with these as they match the beautiful sunny weather we are having at the moment.

Perspective is everything, sometimes, if you drop your camera closer to the ground, you'll see something both beautiful and different and the atmosphere something different and unexpected.

A beautiful sunny day from a couple weeks ago and my first trip out with my camera in nearly a year.

The Suriel

One of the most loved and favorite characters from the Acotar (A Court Of Thorns And Roses) series that pretty much anyone who has read the series will agree with.

The Suriel is a character that by definition should be feared

"An ancient, malevolent, crane like faerie creature known for revealing forbidden truths to anyone that catches it"

But despite that, it is a truly interesting and intriguing character that everyone falls in love with.

This statue represents the suriel, and next to it is a tiny teapot with cups, waiting for someone to "spill the tea" with.

Acotar is the series that got me reading again back in 2024, and I've fallen in love with reading ever since.

(I have a book page by the way đŸ˜‰, you should check it out if you like to read)
