How lucky was he 🤩

Thank you both to Tom Moore and Sue Rogers for sharing their footage.

Tom was paddling back to Brixham having encountered this pod of Rissos earlier on in the bay when he was suddenly surrounded by them. He managed to film this whilst standing up!

Meanwhile, Sue was watching and filming the scene from the top of Berry Head.

How amazing is that?

I caught up with the 3 juveniles (see previous video) hunting beside the harbour wall in New Quay 🐬

Dolphins will sometimes release a fish during a hunt before catching it again, and this one managed to break free not once, but twice! 🐟😳

Nature can be brutal, but it’s fascinating to watch these young dolphins learning and practising their hunting skills. Feel free to share 🐬

Did you know that bottlenose dolphins could jump as high as 6 metres?

Lovely to watch this maternal pod putting on a show this afternoon for people on the harbour wall as well as people on the boats.

Unedited footage, including a lady who nearly tripped over my tripod in the excitement!

The dolphins started chasing pilchards right in front of our kayaks! Of the many encounters we have had before, we had never seen anything like it! The water was alive 🌊

If you look closely, you can see one of the fish having a lucky escape!

Have you ever seen anything like this? And did you know that pilchards and sardines were the same fish?

SO many dolphins today 🤩🤩🤩

They took some finding but thanks to Ross’s eagle eye, we found them 3 miles offshore 🐬

A few people on the trip had never seen dolphins before so it was amazing to share this experience with them. For those of you who can’t go out on a boat, this is what it felt like. Apologies for my shoes 😆
