The first tickle of Bluebells are out! (I am declaring that the collective term for bluebells now). I have given my camera a rest over the past 2 months. Sometimes a necessary part of the creative process. But with Spring getting into it's stride, so am I!

A shameless plug! I have 4 images in different categories for the London Camera Exchange Photographer of the Year competition. Each category is judged by a panel but there is a Peoples Choice Award on which YOU can vote - my other three links are in the comments - if you would be so kind, it's just a click. Thanks!

We haven't had the same snow here in Otley as many, but the Chevin was given a little tickle of winter this morning and I couldn't resist getting out. Some lovely frozen scenes and a few little critters too.

🎄I would like to wish all my followers, and everyone who has enjoyed my photography over the past year, a very Happy Christmas. The support and encouragement I’ve received this year — particularly from the good folk of Otley and the wider Yorkshire area — has been incredible. I’m hopeful for a more peaceful New Year (and a little bit of the white stuff wouldn’t go amiss either!).

A peaceful few hours spent in my favorite local woodland on the Otley Chevin. The ethereal fog transforms the familiar into the enchanting and I lose myself in the moment.

📸This was taken on a cold, quiet morning not far from home, at V***a Wall on the Chevin — one of those walks where everything feels slowed down and you come back a bit lighter than you left.

🎄I’ve been sharing moments like this here for a while now, and with Christmas coming up a few people have asked whether my photographs are available as prints.

🎁If you’re looking for a thoughtful, locally made gift — or something calm for your own walls — prints are available via my website.

Thanks, as always, for the encouragement and support. It really does mean a lot.

(I’ll pop the link in the comments.)

🍂Perhaps my final celebration of this years glorious Autumn Beech colour.🍂

I will never feel I have made enough of each autumn as it passes but that feeling will spur me on for next year.

❄️Now winter... ❄️

🍂🌟Autumns Gold 🌟🍂

Now the colour has passed, I am slowly working through this seasons backlog of Autumn images. Probably my favorite Silver birch shots of the year (after many, many attempts!). The gentle golden glow of the turning leaves is one of the highlights of this season for me.

🍂Fallen leaves🍂

This mighty Beech in Skrikes Wood seems to have fallen before its time. The tree looked in fine health and possibly around 150 years old. Beech can live over double that but this was the victim of a storm in the last year. It felt right to record its fall and I will return to observe and record the next part of its journey.

A 4 shot panoramic stitch.

I finally found the time to work through the rest of the images from my all-too-brief pre-work visit to Timble Woods earlier this week (I already shared my favourite from this shoot if you missed it).
It’s funny — I always head out thinking that if I come home with one image I’m happy with, that’s a success. To return with half a dozen from such a short trip feels like a small miracle!

I may well add one or two of these as prints available to order via my website

🍂🍁Yesterday morning the woods were completely transformed — mist hanging in the air, light breaking through, and the autumn colours at their absolute peak. I only had a short window before work, but everything came together perfectly for a few magical minutes.

This one stopped me in my tracks — the kind of moment that reminds me why I always make time to get out, even when life’s busy.

There are more to follow from this all-too-brief visit to the woods so make sure to check back...
