Don’t get me wrong!

Phones can produce some amazing footage! But more often than not, you’ll get better results on an actual camera 🎥

May officially marks the second year of Cascade Video!

This is the video that started it all. asked if I could make a wellness style video for them. Fortunately we had some of their tea so Kayleigh and I storyboarded an idea and filmed shortly after just to make sure I could in fact make a wellness style video 😅.

Planning a shoot makes not just the filming, but the editing process so much more efficient.

Struggling to find good music?🎵

There are many tricky parts to video creation but one hurdle I frequently have to jump is finding that perfect track.

Fortunately there are a lot of incredible stock music sites out there and this year I’ve been using .io as my go-to and they have been superb.

Quality music and sound can really help elevate video to the next level.

Why sound check before filming? 🎤

Sound is really easy to overlook but can make all the difference when producing a professional product.

If you regularly make video content I'd highly suggest investing in a lapel microphone.

Apart from making sure your audio is top notch it gives you chance to practice your lines in front of the camera.

Once you've got that set up, you need to check it doesn't ruffle against clothing or hair.

Plug in headphones so you can check it sounds good and watch out for those levels - you don't want the decibels to get too high!

Also make sure you don't do what I did early on and mix up your headphone and mic jack 😅.
