I’m often asked if I can photograph older newborn babies. Sometimes life is busy and you do t get around to booking a newborn session in the first few weeks. Sometimes you don’t feel up to it. And sometimes you just didn’t know you wanted a newborn photoshoot, and then you think it’s too late.
babies tent to be a little more awake, but with a bit of patience, I can still get some curled up photos of your gorgeous baby.
This squidge was 6 weeks old, and he spent ages watching me, and gave me some smiles, but then slept just long enough for the curled up portraits too!!

Excuse me. Who gave you permission to grow up this quickly?

Babies seem to spend their first few months doing very little beyond eating, sleeping and stealing YOUR sleep. And it feels never ending.

But suddenly they're sitting up, laughing at everything, grabbing absolutely anything within reach and developing very strong opinions.

And before you know it, they're off! And you have to put the cat food out of reach and baby-proof every sharp corner and low cupboard in your house. And those early days seem like a lifetime ago.

"I don't know how to pose"
- That's OK! I'm here to help you every step of the way.
"I don't know what to wear"
- I have a wardrobe of clothes you can use, or you can bring your own and I can help you to decide. It's up to you!

Maternity photoshoots are MUCH more fun than you think, and you will look AMAZING!

Can you still have newborn photos if your baby is already here?

Yes! I always prefer to pre-book newborn babies, because it helps me to plan my diary, but I often have space to fit another baby in, because I keep flexibility... babies are notoriously bad at keeping to schedule and often don't arrive on time!

Being a new parent is tough. It’s wonderful. And fulfilling. And beautiful. But… there are moments when you wonder how you will EVER get through the newborn days.
My daughters are now young adults, and I still don’t really know what I’m doing. Because every challenge is a new one. But I’m so proud of the people they have become, and there are moments when I have to remind myself to be proud of me, too.
New parents - you’ve got this. Even on the hard, long days. You’re doing a brilliant job.

Parents and siblings can be included. Bring your Christmas jumper or your festive PJs, or dress up in your best new clothes.

Can you still book newborn photos if your baby is already here?

Yes!! I prefer to have my diary organised weeks in advance, so booking while you are still pregnant is what I prefer... but you can still book once baby is here!

And there's no sudden cut-off for newborn photos. While babies under 2 weeks tend to be the most sleepy and curled up, there isn't a magic switch that flicks on day 14. If your baby is three, four, five weeks old... or maybe even older, we can still get some BEAUTIFUL photographs of your baby, while they are still little.
