Fantastic day at the Speak and Shine Summit yesterday @ Kindred London. A room full of wonderful, welcoming, inspiring women.

The theme was inspiring women to be BOLD and I took something away from every single speaker. Excellent panel discussion too. Such a range of businesses and so much expertise.

Spring is in the air finally as part of your Spring Cleaning do you need to refresh your team's headshots?

Outdoor headshots can work really well for businesses. Natural and engaging, but still professional. I don't know if it's the fresh air, but I find people relax a little more - the benefit of being in natural.

And you don't need to be based near a park or garden, I've done plenty of headshots around the edges of office carparks in Milton Keynes. Only a small amount of greenery is needed.

I don't know about you, but I always think it's good to walk your talk. I tell people all the time that personal branding photos are important for their business. They are a way to show people your personality and connect with prospective clients. They allow people to put a face to a name.

And people want to recognise the "current me" when they meet me, not the me from 10 years ago.

It's also good to get on the other side of the camera and walk in my client's shoes. To remember that it can feel slightly awkward having your photo taken. Doing this from time to time helps me relate to my clients when they feel nervous before a shoot.

So I have my own images refreshed every few years. And yes, I use a human; I find an experienced photographer who will capture that natural expression and eye contact that makes such a difference to a photo.

Is AI fun to play with? Yes. For sure. But I'm not here to share unrealistic static AI images with stiff body positions as part of my branding.

My images are all natural - photos of humans taken by humans - these are from the super lovely human Knights Photography.
