I didn’t plan on making a film today.

I had a bit of time to myself, so I decided to take the Levo out for a proper jaunt.

No commute to the gym.
No towing a seven-year-old behind me.
No particular destination.

Just me, the bike, the moors and a chance to get properly mucky.

Inevitably, though, I started seeing shots. 😂

I didn’t have a tripod or any proper camera gear with me, so I whipped out the iPhone 17 Pro and started balancing it against whatever rocks, walls and bits of moorland I could find.

Ride a section.
Walk back.
Prop the phone up.
Ride it again.
Hope the phone was still there.

It was really just a chance to have some fun and get a bit of practice filming myself while I was out.

This is what I came home with.

Next time:
More Dirt.
More Speed.
More cameras.

I don’t think I’ve been this excited about getting out and exploring in years.

Yesterday was spent charging the thing, fitting the lights and reading the three-inch-thick instruction manual.

By 4:30 this morning I couldn’t wait any longer, so I headed off to see how long it would take to get to CrossFit OL1.

I was expecting 30–40 minutes.

18 minutes later I was there… and that was with me nursing it down the hill like it was made of glass!

The gym wasn’t even open yet.

So I turned around, rode back home for a brew, then headed back for the 6:45 class.

By the end of the day I’d clocked up 40km, including towing our 7-year-old around Saddleworth for 8km on the Sh***un Tow Rope.

What excites me most isn’t the bike itself — it’s where it’ll take me. Less time in the car, more time outdoors, more freedom, and plenty of new cinematic adventures.

Let’s be honest, nobody gets excited when BoxMate says “Run”. My knees are certainly thanking me for the 105Nm of torque right now. 😄

Three years is a lifetime in video production.

🎬 Since my last showreel, the pace has picked up and the work has evolved:

🏋️‍♂️ More sport
💪 More fitness
🏔️ More outdoors
🎥 More movement

From HYROX and CrossFit to netball matches, outdoor campaigns, and product films—it’s been a massive year behind the lens.

But I haven’t just been shooting. I’ve been levelling up my motion design, tracking, and 3D animation behind the scenes (mostly NDA projects I can’t talk about 🤫).

So yeah... it’s definitely time for an update. ⚡

The Twist: I’m cutting landscape and portrait versions simultaneously. Cinematic landscape will always have my heart, but vertical is where the audience lives today. 📲

The Preview: This level of post-production takes time to bake, so instead of waiting for a final render, here’s a quick screen recording straight from the timeline. 🖥️

The edit isn’t locked yet, and I need your ears.

🎧 I wanted a soundtrack that matches the high-octane energy of the footage — the CrossFit OL1 crew don’t do “mellow.” 😂

I’ve been building and developing my brand for the past 10 years, and if I’m honest, the biggest challenge has always been my website.

Like a lot of creatives, I’ve spent far too long trying to make it perfect instead of just finishing it.

The new MUVE site is finally coming together though — and once it’s live I can stop obsessing over pages and start focusing on what I actually do best: making great video content and sharing it with you.

Helping a local Oldham florist get ready for Mother’s Day today with a quick social media promo video.

I filmed some simple vertical slow-motion footage for social media and turned it into a quick promotional video for Google Ads to help boost visibility during a busy seasonal week.

6am. First CrossFit Open.

Been quiet on here.
Not inactive — just building.

Training hard.
Helping my gym tell their stories
Helping brands tell longer ones that often can’t be shared.
Reworking my direction.
Filming before sunrise.
Raising a 6-year-old.
Trying to sleep more than five hours.

Somewhere in that, I realised:

Posting finished work and hoping for likes isn’t the same as building something meaningful.

So I stopped.

But I didn’t stop building.

Still here.
Still creating.
Still chasing better.
