So this time last Sunday I was very privileged to be asked to photograph the first event of the year… an In-Hand Show held at Leanach Farm Stables organised by Deanna…

It was a lovely opportunity to really try and capture the moment… capture that energy, that connection between the horse or pony and their handlers/owners…

Despite being a very cold day - we were lucky enough to use the indoor school and work our way through the fantastic number of entries across almost 20 classes… the judge Ashley Reilly had a challenging day judging the different types, breeds and age groups, ‘prettiest pony’ and even a fancy dress class at the end. Well done to all those who supported and made the effort to turn out their ponies in good order…

Driving back from the northwest coast of the Highlands after a long day trimming cobs, hill ponies and donkeys… the sun was beginning to set behind me so I found a place to park up along the banks of Loch Assynt to let my girls out for a run and try and capture the evening sky with the sun setting behind the ruins of Ardvreck Castle…

Yesterday was a happy if somewhat chilly return to behind the lens and it was a pleasure to be supporting Caledonian Riding Club at their first show of the year. Lots of happy smiling competitors, thankyou for having me along and for looking after me so well. Best of luck for the rest of the season 📸

What a fantastic day out with Leanne at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials - the sun was shining, the conditions were perfect and the spectators were there in the thousands to support! Such a beautiful location for a XC event in the heart of Scotland. And yes, much money was spent in the shopping village!! 🙄 Definitely will be back next year with our tent to make a weekend of it! 🏇🏿💨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥂🍻
