Aviation Photography by James Shipley

Aviation Photography by James Shipley I have been photographing aviation since I was a child so have a vast collection of images to share. I attend many of the major UK airshows.

Vintage, Classic and Historic aircraft are my passion but if it flies it gets photographed!

Continuing with my museum reopening celebrations is the Parnall Elf seen in the Old Warden hangar (with the Comet in the background). Visitors to OW today were, I believe, treated to many, many Chipmunks. I love the assortment of vintage aircraft and vehicles at The Shuttleworth Collection, and hope to return very soon

With museums being able to open their doors to the public from today I'm running a series of images taken from inside museums. The museums may not actually have opened yet as some have not decided when they will be, but the fact they can when they are ready is something to celebrate 🥳 this photo comes from the Yorkshire Air Museum and features their Handley Page Halifax reproduction

Museums can open from tomorrow! Under current lockdown easing many museums are opening their doors from tomorrow. I won't be going into specifics about which museums are and when, as some are not quite ready and some have not yet even announced reopening dates yet, I will be running a series of archive images from inside various museums to celebrate the easing that allows them to do so
This image comes from inside the American Air Museum at Duxford before its refurb and reshuffle

The finished article! Curtiss (Republic) P-47G Thunderbolt "Snafu/War Eagle" on the Flying Legends flightline. My previous images showed her after arriving in a crate, part way through the restoration and finished with this image today. It's always wonderful to see projects like this come to fruition and I have many more images of the different stages from over the years, which over time I'm sure I'll share most of them
