It's been three weeks since the Download Festival and haven't had much of a chance to cover a post due to a tight schedule on projects and processing a lot about the weekend itself but here we go.
A friend once told me music is the closest he'll find to a religion and I whole heartedly agreed with him but as much as I loved being back in such a familiar environment, the weight of the lockdowns had taken their toll and left me with a heavy balance of pure enjoyment and anxiety-driven fluxes to attempt to keep even during the three days.
It's upsetting to know that such an overwhelming weight followed me and robbed me of diving headfirst back into what I love but I'm glad that everyone I worked with/talked to over the weekend made it that little bit easier to manage.
I can only hope that the live music scene continues to gather its strength and I can finally detach myself from these anxious feelings. I'll say that even with the internal distractions however, this was one of the best weekends in a long while.
Thank you Sleep Token, Those Damn Crows and Loathe.
