Many people come to me stating they don't like AI restoring as sometimes it changes people's faces only so slightly, but is no longer the original, so they come to me to do a restoration where the original image is preserved, even though it may still retain some blur, etc. When it comes to colouring also seems to bleed colours, so people come to me for a more accurate colouring. I can use AI as aids if requested to do so, but I use them only as tools, not the final spot, as after the AI i can go in and correct mistakes (which there are always some) created by the AI, and that is where the manual editing has its value. I am not saying AI is not good for some, especially if trying to save a little dosh, but it is not as personal and meticulous. Cheers

AI image restoration, colouring, etc., is amazing and, in a way, has rendered many photo restorers' work obsolete, as nearly anyone can use it. It is an extra tool, not a replacement for the accuracy of a manual photo restorer. The AI tools make many mistakes, which then require a human touch to repair them. However, it is true that if one is not too fussy, a quick AI repair will suffice and save expenses. So yes, in all Honesty, it has replaced a lot of lower-level restorers, especially when the user is not too fussed about the results ...it is a little sad, but the world does have to evolve...I accept that.

Following the last image i restored I decided to geve here an example of colouring, as before I just restored and created a true greyscale to the image...On the colour image you will notice the various colours on the face skin "tonalities to make it more photo realistic, also blouse different colours done individually.
Of course an AI colouring will do a decent job but misfires a lot on colours and tonalities, as well as have colour bleeds etc...nothing is as good as hand coloured of course. also one controls the colours while AI guesses.
