It's 18.48 here in Nottingham and I have spent 25 minutes outside in the back garden looking up at the sky with my x20-×60 spotting scope ....I looked at the nearly half moon and got some awesome views of the craters along the terminator (the boundary between day and night),then I looked at Jupiter which was very close and could easily see three of the four main moons namely Io, Europa and Ganymede and could also make out the North equatorial belt in the atmosphere....then turned my attention to Mars where I could just about make out a reddish disc...not bad for just observing the sky for 25 minutes...of course as an amateur astronomer I have an impressive instrument.... 😀
