The West Mill, Derbyshire 📸

There’s so much to work with here; the unique industrial details of the mill, beautiful indoor spaces, greenery throughout the grounds, the River Derwent flowing past and those gorgeous sunsets over the water.

I always ask my couples which elements of their wedding venue they’re most drawn to. The spaces they love, the details that caught their eye and ultimately what made them choose it for their day.

It means I can weave those elements into your couple portraits and create photographs that feel connected to your wedding and the venue you chose.

For a West Mill wedding, I love using the contrast between the industrial backdrop of the mill and the softer nature surrounding it. It gives us so much variety for your wedding gallery, whilst keeping everything relaxed and natural.

Such a lovely Derbyshire wedding venue to photograph, and one I’ll always enjoy coming back to 🤍

A wedding venue where every corner feels completely different behind the camera…

I love that shooting weddings takes me to all sorts of environments, sometimes the city, often the countryside.

Grangefields Barn is so beautifully located out in Derbyshire with stunning views, but you also get the cool edge of the Dutch Barn which creates amazing contrast.

The light hits different in each part of the venue and I love getting to channel this into your photos, capturing the atmosphere of the different parts of the day.

From soft natural light to the moodier feel of the barn, it’s a venue that gives every part of the day its own little character.

Colourful florals, golden hour by the river, a room full of laughter and plenty of those perfectly imperfect moments in between.

The West Mill really is a dream for documentary wedding photography - industrial interiors, gorgeous natural light and so many little corners to sneak away for relaxed couple portraits.

No overly posed moments here. Just Lucy & Tom enjoying their day while I followed along capturing the beautiful little moments.

The softest details, windswept walks through the fields, glasses raised, happy tears and those tiny in-between moments that somehow end up meaning the most.

Your wedding day isn’t defined by one moment,it’s made up of hundreds of little ones.

The excitement while you’re getting ready. The hugs before the ceremony. The deep breath before you walk down the aisle. The confetti, the speeches, golden hour, the dance floor... and everything in between.

Some of the most meaningful photographs are the moments you never planned for 🤍

That’s why I love documenting the whole story, from the quiet anticipation of the morning to the celebrations that round off the day.

Trends come and go, but the way your wedding day felt never will!

Years from now, it won’t be the perfectly posed photograph that takes you back.

It’ll be the uncontrollable laughter, the squeeze of a hand, the tears during the speeches, and the quiet glances you didn’t even realise happened 🤍

Those are the moments I look for.

Of course, I’ll guide you when you need it, but my focus is always on creating space for genuine emotion to unfold naturally, not interrupting it for the sake of a trend.

Lauren and Grant's spring wedding at Kelham House Country Manor 🌱

The day was full of spring colour; soft sage greens, bright daffodils, and those iconic bluebells peeking through the woodland. It was a crisp, windy day, but that only added more life and energy to the photos!

A cute highlight was having their dog, Lunar, there for the celebrations. I always value it when couples include their pets.

As a Nottingham wedding photographer, I love finding quiet moments in nature. The woodland at Kelham offered an escape from the wind for some relaxed portraits. Woodland wedding photography in the spring is always a favourite of mine; the light through the new leaves is just beautiful.
