You can always guarantee that at any automotive event, the car park is gold for car spotting, no exception at Automobile Enthusiast - This beautiful BMW 3.0 CSL almost had me on my knees!!

A great chat with the owner, has been the custodian for almost 8 years and a car he’s always wanted!

Today is day two! What an experience yesterday. One of the most unique vintage automotive events I’ve been to, I know many of my friends back in the UK that will love this event.

So today I visited what’s left of the Le circuit de Reims-Gueux on the outskirts of Reims and first used in firstrand Prix de la Marne. In 1938, the Automobile Club of France used it for the French Grand Prix, and the first official Formula 1 race was held in 1950. The circuit was last used by Formula 1 in 1966.

Not quite sure who owns the structures, but I do know Les passionnés du Circuit de la Marne do a lot for the preservation of the remains of the buildings.

I have the nostalgic view of the old remains, knowing my idols once stood and raced on this very fast and dangerous track like Fangio, Clark, Hill, Brabham, Moss and Hawthorn etc gives me goosebumps. You can tell which era of motorsport I’m into!

Do have a gripe, though; I just wish there wasn’t the ‘new’ painted sponsor logos. I did hope to see some of the original ones that were left from when the circuit closed. Seeing freshly painted ‘sponsor’ lost a little of the motor racing time stamp of the place.

Still worth a visit for all petrolheads!
