The difference a year makes - swipe to see 🥹

Same baby & same outfit (just a few sizes bigger), oh I love getting to see and capture your babies as they grow!

I’ve found myself getting all emotional when I’m editing photos this week. Maybe it’s the sleep deprivation, maybe it’s because next month I’ll be capturing my own baby’s 1st Birthday photos who knows.

Time just goes too fast when you have kids! You wish the sleepless nights away but then miss the sleepy cuddles. So please capture as many photos as you can, even if it’s just on your phone and you blink and they’re all grown up..

Remembering your newborn exactly as they are 🥰

Back from a week away with my babies - 1 is now 5 going on 15 and the other is now 10 months, crawling & getting into everything so I need a holiday to get over the holiday but quality time with them was so needed.

I’m having lots of enquiries for September & October now which is amazing with some weeks fully booked out so if there are specific dates you have in mind, especially if it’s newborn or 1st Birthday please let me know asap!

For me it’s not about the perfectly posed photos it’s about capturing the little details and special moments in between 🥰

A gorgeous weekend of photoshoots with 2 more tomorrow & then a well needed break with my little ones where I’m going to give myself some time off from the evening editing and might even treat myself to some early nights & a bath by myself 🤣.. it really is the simple things for me right now.

I will still be available on email but might just be a bit slower at replying. So many summer babies booked in for June & July I can’t wait to see you all!

Back to back birthday photoshoots today, catching up with 2 families I captured a year ago 🥰 and it was lovely to have a day back working even if it did mean nipping back into the house in between shoots to see a teething Lou who was being looked after by Granny.

Hopefully from next month he will be starting at a childminder after pulling him out of the nursery his sister went to because of a rubbish experience. And even though it’s been chaos juggling childcare this whole time around a job I love I don’t have any work dread like I did when I had a whole year off with my daughter. I’m actually quite excited to have actually full days of work! So if you receive responses to messages & emails late night or early morning it’s because the juggle of working when they sleep continues for hopefully just one more month 🤞🏻

Maternity photoshoots with older siblings will always be my favourite 🥰

& this photoshoot was an extra special one as it’s been 3 years of capturing this beautiful family. Their first ever photoshoot was when big brother to be was in his mums tummy. And now 3 years later we’re capturing him with his baby brother in there!

I have been MIA on social media the last few weeks as I’ve been so busy with shoots and editing behind the scenes (when my kids decide to sleep that is) but still here working away busier than ever thanks to all my amazing clients.

Availability update: May - July is nearly fully booked so please let me know if you do want a date & I can send over what I have left. August I have good availability but I will be working less with it being the summer holidays.

Sleepy newborn scrunches 🥹

When is the best time to book your newborn photoshoot?

As cliche as it sounds it’s when is best for you.

A lot of families want to capture them as tiny as possible so I recommend pencilling in a date 1-2 weeks after due date and then once baby has arrived we can bring this date forward or move it back depending on how you’re feeling.

Others want to embrace the newborn bubble, stay at home with no pressure to get out for the first month and I totally get it and that’s when we pencil in a date 4-6 weeks after due date. This is when you tend to get a mix of more eyes open shots as babies become more alert around this age.

And if I’m totally honest 3 months old has become a really popular age as well. Around this age the newborn haze tends to have lifted and you start to see their little personalities & smiles coming through.

I’ve blinked and I will be capturing this little one’s 1st Birthday photos next month and this was one of the last photoshoots I did before I went off on maternity leave myself. Where has this last year gone?! 😳

Time to start sharing more of the beautiful galleries I’ve been capturing over the last year as from next month my own baby will be in nursery 2 days a week.

I won’t lie it’s bitter sweet. I’m full of mum guilt for sending him but deep down know it’s the best thing for us. Being self employed and not having any dedicated work days and having to work around the kids has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. So I’m excited for him to get 2 days at nursery and for me to have 2 days where I can solidly work rather than when he’s gone to sleep (full disclaimer he’s an awful sleeper at the moment).

So from next month my main working days will be Mondays and Tuesdays with the occasional weekend. May is now full and July is nearly fully booked but I do have a couple of slots left for June 🖤

A big thank you to all my loyal clients who have booked in with me already. I’m so grateful for you all and can’t wait to be back capturing you and your babies again 🥰

8 months of loving these not so tiny toes anymore 🥹

I’m still here busy working behind the scenes but I’m trying to soak up every spare moment I get with him now as time is just going too fast. The last 8 months have been incredibly tough trying to juggle everything and I’ve had so many people say to me I’ve made it look easy but I promise you it’s been far from that.

I’m currently half way through replying to emails & sending invoices but I had to pause as Louie woke up because he’s so congested and now he’s asleep on me (which I love) but it means work will have to wait until this evening. So to any other mum out there trying to juggle work and look after little ones at the same time I totally get it. Embrace those sleepy cuddles though as they do really fill your cup when you need it most 🥰

A day late but I fully embraced my first Mother’s Day as a mum of 2 yesterday. Not relaxing in the slightest but I wouldn’t have it any other way 🥰

But I couldn’t let this day pass without dedicating a post to all the amazing women I get to meet & capture on a weekly basis. Capturing you with your babies is one of the best parts of this job ❤️

Spring Mini Photoshoots are live and can now be booked via the link in my bio 📸🌸

It’s time to welcome in Spring at Cleaver & Wake with our first Mini Photoshoot Sessions of the year!

I can’t wait to capture these memories for you - this time we’re stepping out of my studio and into a new & beautiful city centre location.

Running from 10am until 3pm sessions will be taking place on Sunday the 12th of April on the top floor of the iconic Cleaver & Wake Building, offering panoramic views across the city of Nottingham.

All sessions include a glass of fizz or soft drink on arrival, will last 20 minutes, include a private online gallery of 20-25 photos to choose from and x 5 digital images in colour & black and white to keep for £215.

Sessions will be allocated on a first come, first served basis with a £100 deposit required when booking to secure your slot. If the deposit is not received within 24 hours of booking the slot will be opened back up. The remaining balance is due the week prior to your photoshoot.

Once the slot has been booked and the deposit has been paid you will receive a separate email from me with further details on what to expect on the day so you can feel fully prepared but any questions in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] 🖤
