So pleased with these shots of a male Green Woodpecker, I tried to position myself to get some of the wild flowers in the shot as I think the background is as important as the main subject.

A Male Green Woodpecker digging for bugs.
These are a great subject for new wildlife photographers, they feed on the ground for long periods giving you plenty of time to master your settings, they let you get fairly close maybe 20meters away, they are a stunning bird too😍
