It can be tough building something, whether that's a business or a life you dream of, so making sure you're surrounding yourself with people who encourage and support you as you do is paramount to you maintaining momentum.

Whilst everyone means well, they may not always understand - or want to understand - the path you are pursuing. And if you're not vigilant, their fears can become contagious, leaving you questioning yourself and your decisions, especially if they're someone you have looked up to and respected in the past.

So whilst I don't suggest ditching everyone who isn't actively cheering you on or encouraging you on the path you've chosen, DO widen your circle and seek out communities of people on a similar path who understand you. Communities of people who are already living the life or running the business you dream of. To remind you that what you want is possible.

Because it is possible and you can do it.

If you missed it last week, in the first ever edition of The Momentum Edit I talked about the power of starting before you’re ready.

And I am a full advocate after experiencing the power personally as I’ve grown my photography business.

Take the Ibiza Edit that I launched in October 2021.

I’d lived in Ibiza just 7 months.

I’d never run a service like it before.

I hadn’t got a list of locations planned, I wasn’t well connected and I didn’t have a carefully masterminded marketing campaign sorted.

I genuinely didn’t know if it’d work.

But I launched it anyway and since then have carried out 15 Ibiza Edit shoots with 24 business owners benefitting from the service to date, some on multiple occasions.

Many of them people I didn’t know before I launched.

So please. For the love of sweet baby Jesus. If you’ve got an idea, a vision for your life or business, a dream you can’t stop thinking about.

The first thought I had when I looked at this photo of myself was : Urgh. Look at my belly!

I didn’t hone in on my natural laugh or my nice tanned legs. I went straight in for everything I hated about the photo. Everything I hated about my appearance.

And so I filed the photo away in the never-to-be-used-on-social-media file ⛔️

Until today.

How many times have you not shown up online because of how you felt about the way you looked?

I am guessing if you’re anything like me, quite a lot of times.

Which means that’s quite a lot of times you’ve not shown up for your audience.

And quite a lot of times you’ve not shared your voice and the amazing value you have to give.

All because of one the least interesting things about you.

Your appearance.

So whilst this feels pretty uncomfortable to do, I’m sharing this photo today to remind you that showing up for your audience is way more important than a few belly rolls......
.... and to sit up straight when you’re having your photo taken 😉🤣
