Come along to the wedding open day at the absolutely beautiful Sorn Castle - Exclusive Use Wedding Venue in Ayrshire! Meet Martyn and the team from Sorn Castle who will be more than happy to show you around this spectacular venue. It has to be one of my favourite places for weddings in the whole of Scotland. Happy Valentine’s Day to all you romantics out there! I had a lovely day taking some pre-wedding photos for Aimee and Sam today! Sam proposed to Aimee on the ski slopes of Switzerland and we met at the Wedding Open Day at last summer.
I’m so pleased that Aimee and Sam suggested Seacliff Beach in East Lothian as a location for this little shoot. It’s an area of Scotland that I don’t know so well….yet! If you haven’t been yet, you should go! The first thing you see as you get to the beach is the impressive Bass Rock. And then as you walk to the headland the view opens up to the spectacular Tantallon Castle! What a place! I can’t wait to be back!

I’ve been meaning to share some more images from Maegan and Jordan’s wedding for a while now. Their wedding day was just so epic that it would be almost criminal not to share a few more impressions from it here. It all started with a message from my friend who had originally been booked by Maegan and Jordan, but due to sickness Neil had asked me to step in. So off I go to the most northern place on the British mainland, to shoot Maegan’s and Jordan’s big day from the top of the cliffs at Dunnet with the spectacular backdrop of the . I had never been to the House of the Northern Gate before, but it is absolutely spectacular and was perfect for the wedding guests, most of whom had flown in from the US. The house itself has been beautifully restored and can be hired as an exclusive use venue. I just loved how cosy it felt despite its grand exterior. Just a lovely place! The ceremony was conducted by a good friend of the couple, which made it super special, although it was that windy that at times I think many of us feared we would be blown away into the sea! Only in Scotland! After the ceremony I got to spend some time with Maegan and Jordan for some couple photos on the beach at Dunnet, capturing the beautiful Scottish colour palette of the russet bracken contrasted by the blue of the North Atlantic! What a place! And we even had a seal pop its head out of the water, as if he wanted to congratulate the happy couple on their special day!

It was gallery delivery day for .mildred and Graeme who tied the knot at the sumptuous Royal College of Physicians ( ) in Edinburgh. Wow! What a wedding that was! From Pippa’s brother conducting the actual service to some of Pippa’s and Graeme’s friends singing a song which they had written just for the happy couple, to a wedding cake and the grand entrance into the candlelit Great Hall of the College for their wedding breakfast! It was just spectacular! Congratulations to this wonderful couple again! It was such a pleasure playing a part on your wedding day!

It’s gallery delivery day for Bonnie and Andrew, who tied the knot at the fabulous on the outskirts of Glasgow! It was a very rainy morning on their wedding day, and I was so worried we might not get a chance for some couple photos in the beautiful grounds of the castle. But just as the actual ceremony was about to be kicked off in style by the inimitable .the.celebrant the clouds began to lift and the sun started to stream into the beautiful ceremony room inside the castle. The team at the castle did a wonderful job looking after the wedding guests while Bonnie, Andrew and I took some beautiful images capturing some of the last autumn colours. And doesn’t Bonnie look amazing in her wedding dress? No wonder that Andrew got just a little bit emotional as his beautiful bride walked down the aisle! Congratulations to this wonderful couple!
