Bangor locals‼️ What are your thoughts on what’s happening down at Bangor Marina right now? 👇
There’s no denying things are finally moving. New works have begun, construction crews are on site, and there’s a sense that something is taking shape again along the waterfront. After spending time down there with the camera, you can feel a shift, a mix of progress and pause all at once.
But it’s hard to ignore the history here too.
For years, there have been promises, plans, and big ideas tied to Bangor’s seafront. Some got people excited… others never quite made it past the proposal stage. And for many, that cycle of “what could be” followed by last-minute changes or silence has left a bit of scepticism behind.
Walking through the area now, that contrast really stands out.
You’ve got construction starting fresh in one corner… while in another, empty buildings still wear layers of graffiti and murals - almost like a timeline of everything that’s come and gone.
It actually tells a story:
• hope and investment
• delay and uncertainty
• creativity filling the gaps in between
I captured a few moments of it: workers getting stuck into the new phase, and the quieter, forgotten edges that still hold character in their own way.
So the question is:
Do you feel this is real progress this time… or just another chapter in a long line of starts and stops?
And what would you actually like to see happen down there?
