Several years ago I was commissioned to photograph internet security specialist David Higgins at his home in Norfolk 📍. The brief was simple but challenging: create a single image that visually summed up internet security for a newspaper feature 🗞️.
A computer had to be central 💻, but I also wanted to introduce a subtle sense of mystery. For many people, the internet still feels complex and uncertain, so the image needed to reflect that while staying engaging and approachable 🔐.
Using just a couple of lights and some coloured gels 💡🎨, I shaped the scene to add drama without overpowering the subject. Carefully chosen props helped tell the story in a single frame, keeping the focus firmly on David.
In editorial photography, an image has one job: make someone stop and look 👀. If this photograph encouraged even a brief pause and sparked curiosity to read more, then it did exactly what it was meant to do ✅.
