I was a darkroom worker for years before the advancement of digital. Follow me on Instagram - dragonroy A journey, marking moments in time! ROY FRANKLAND PHOTOGRAPHY·SUNDAY, 7 JUNE 2020·
I started my journey in photography as a very keen amateur, back in 1999. I learned how to develop my own film and stared printing my own images in my home darkroom. The first time I saw an image appear in the che

micals from a white sheet of paper, I was hooked. I’ve always remained as a keen amateur rather than professional, however, I have one book published called “a different way of life”, printed back in 2010. Some copies still available, but it was a limited run. I hold an LRPS from the Royal Photographic Society and am a member of the PSA too. from my time as a darkroom worker, my main love is still black and white, but the darkroom has gone (due to working abroad for almost 15 years) so, mostly I work in digital these days In both colour and monochrome. I don’t have a set genre, I just photograph what I like! People, places, documentary, landscapes, dereliction... I hope you like my work.

Tawny Owl. My very first owl in the wild, a lovely Tawny, hiding high up in a tree with horrible lighting. My arms were a bit shaky with my heavy lens so not as sharp as I’d like, but still chuffed to capture it. … copies of my book and all my images are available for prints direct from me, or print and download https://www.royfranklandphotography.com/
