No playback as the cassette has broken and jammed the mechanism, all is not lost we recover the recording by striping the cassette and using a donor shell to enable correct operation of the tape and brake.

This one was a VHS but we have transplanted all other formats too including cassettes sonically welded together or even jammed in old machines.

16mm films with audio carrying optical tracks (seen on the left of the image) are often very noisy even when they have been digitised in high resolution and digitally extracted.
