A quick phone shot of a composition that caught my eye as I was slipping and sliding along the top of Hadrian’s Wall in some superb conditions. Don’t look too closely, as well as being a phone shot, it was processed on my phone on the wrong side of a couple of pints.

Hopefully the shots I took on the X-T5 turn out ok.

Shortly after this photo was taken, my camera took a nosedive off the tripod, trashing the lens and filter man. Fortunately, the camera survived. And I'm insured. And it's a lovely photo.

Thornham, just after high tide.

We spent ages grumbling about the Land Rover cluttering up the shot, and discussing how we might be able to clone it out. And then the setting sun broke through the gap between that thick bank of cloud and the horizon and we realised that the Land Rover had been in exactly the right place all along and we ha a few fleeting moments to grab some sun-stars. A great end to a great day. With thanks to and for organising and hosting the trip.

WHAT’S IN A NAME…

“Phyllognathus Excavatus”

With its impressive Rhino-like horn and imposing front limbs I was a little disappointed to discover that the despite its impressive Latin name this is actually a Dung Beetle.

And also mindful that I found it in our swimming pool… 💩🏊‍♂️
