Seems like ages ago now, with a setting sun, birds singing and soft melodies drifting through the evening cool as Amie played "She Moved Through the Faire"

This little tune is a traditional Irish folk song about a young man seeing his lover moving away from him through the faire after telling him that her family will approve and it will not be long now till their wedding day. Obviously, as these things go, she returns to him as a ghost and whispers to him again, it will not be long now, till our wedding day, indicating a reunion in the afterlife.

This was one of my dad's favourite tunes that he played on the fiddle, to me at the time, it seemed a bit slow and I was more into the rocking Irish jigs, but as life goes on and the birds are singing, the sun is shining and this is being played by the talented Harpist Amie on her beautiful harp, you can't but appreciate why it was one of my dads favourite tunes.

I've not done this sort of thing for a long time now. Bumped into an old (not so old) camera club friend of mine at the Berriew show last weekend and we've both promised ourselves a meet up to see what we could do with some portable lighting, smoke machines, a couple of models, makeup artists and some seasonal themed nature photoshoots.... nothing to complicated of course! 🤣

Some of these shots were taken around Mellington Hall and surrounding areas, looking back, it was incredible fun, even with the odd comedian pulling faces in the background 🧐

Was not expecting to take so many photos but there was so much going on. Fab day despite the weather, it did not dampen ...

Had an delightful time with these two vet nurses going through electrical theory and PAT training. Tink & Sophie will be taking on the roles of PAT testing. With newly calibrated test equipment, IET guides and onsite training, they pretty much organised themselves to form an efficient team making notes, testing, confirming processes and applying theory into practice.

Amazed at how quickly they picked things up and communicated with each other confirming understanding, validating test periods and device electrical types and prioritising visual inspection looking for damage, wear and tear as well as spotting issues with fixed wiring outlets, making notes etc.

Amazing work girls, so impressed!

Wow, this was a hard act to follow – not in the literally sense but – photographically.
I’ve been honoured to have been asked by Mike Mills to photograph the Play At The Castle over the past 11 years (where did that time go!) and each year, as a photographer, some of the scenes can be predicted as to where the actors will be and how the play progresses throughout the evening making compositions a little easier for a live show..........
