What is the best age?

When you look back is there a stage that you remember (possibly through rose tinted specs) that was just brilliant?

I loved my boys when they were around 4 and 2.

I possibly wouldn't have said that at the time and there's definitely a whole lot of ignoring the fact that the little one was still in our bed every single night at that stage.

We were probably in the midst of the 5.30am wake up calls with my eldest and...

I'm sure there was a temper tantrum or two to deal with as well. In fact I'm sure of that as I distinctly remember the wonderful Playgroup leader describing him as 'thrang'. She had him pegged! Thrang described him perfectly.

But when I look back at photos and videos of them together at that age it's just magical and I so wish I'd been able to appreciate it more at the time.

This little one is smack bang in the middle of that brilliant stage.

He's just fun and funny and has all his little sayings. He's still little and cuddly and able to fit on a hip.

I'd definitely go back. Just for a day. Just to soak it all in and fully appreciate how fab and hilarious they were at that stage.

It's not that there aren't great things about where we are now, there is! It's just that they aren't little any more.

It's funny how you can celebrate them growing up and grieve the fact that they are all in a oner. 🤍💔

5 of the hardest things about going back to school...

1. Getting them out of bed on time...this is harder every year.
2. Laying out the new uniform only to discover that there has been a growth spurt over the holidays and you now need to order a new set of everything. 🥴🥴
3. Getting them to eat breakfast without getting any of it on their school clothes. Every. single. morning. 😖
4. Getting all the snacks, packed lunches, water bottles, swimming gear and laptops sorted and in bags. (Had to do a mad dash down the road on Tuesday morning because the laptop was left sitting on charge rather than actually in the bag. 🙄)
5. No lollipop man! Again! Grrrr. 😡

What would be on your list?

I hope all my Back to School Session little ones got on well this week.

This is just some of them....still a few more to do but I'm very nearly there! 😅

She was not for sleeping at all. Feeding yes. Sleeping...not so much.

But we still managed to get snoozy shots. They just took a little time and patience.

I actually have about 30 set ups that I run through in each session.

Never in the same order because babies do their thing and each family is different.

But I have a ton of images that for me are 'must haves'.

These are just the beginning.
