Things my children have taught me about motherhood 🤍

They’ve taught me that the house doesn’t need to be perfect.

That the days can feel long, but the years really do fly by.

That cold tea is a normal part of life.

That the best moments are usually the quiet ones — cuddles on the sofa, tiny hands in mine, sleepy smiles and belly laughs.

They’ve taught me patience, love I didn’t know was possible, and that the chaos is actually where the magic is.

Becoming a mum of two has made me realise something else too…

We take thousands of photos of our children, but so few with us in them.

One day our children won’t care about the messy house, the tired eyes, or whether we felt camera-ready.

They’ll just want to see photos of their mum loving them.

This is your reminder to step into the frame with your children 🤍

There’s something so magical about church weddings 🤍

This is one of my favourite churches in the South West. I grew up visiting Selworthy often because my grandparents lived there, so this place holds so many special memories for me.

We actually visited again yesterday for my birthday, and seeing this beautiful church brought back so many happy memories of them.

From a photography point of view, churches are often one of the hardest places to photograph (the lighting can be… interesting 😅), but that challenge is also part of the magic. Capturing those quiet moments, the emotion, and the atmosphere inside such a historic place is always so special.

I feel very lucky that this job allows me to photograph weddings in places that mean so much to me

✨ Today I turn 32… and my little business turns 12! 😮📸

This week is a special one — celebrating another year around the sun, Mother’s Day, and hopefully eating lots of cake 😆 🍰 all with my babies 🫶🏼

When I first started photography, it was moments like this that inspired me. This photo is of my best friend and my goddaughter, who I have the absolute pleasure of photographing every year for her birthday. Watching families grow and capturing those memories year after year is honestly the best part of what I do.

That’s exactly what inspired my new “Letter to My Children” sessions — creating meaningful photos and memories you’ll treasure forever.

I’m currently on maternity leave until September, but this Sunday I’ll be releasing my September, October & November shoot dates INCLUDING golden hour shoots for when I’m back in action 📸

A letter to my children 🤍

Since my son was born, we’ve created a little tradition as a family.

Each year, around his birthday, we have a photoshoot together. The night before his birthday I sit down and write him a letter — reflecting on the year we’ve just had. The things he’s learned, the adventures we’ve been on, the funny little moments I never want to forget, and what it’s been like watching him grow as his mum.

I write about how proud I am of him, how much he’s changed in a year, and how excited I am for the year ahead.

After our shoot, I print one photo from that year and place it inside the book alongside the letter.

One day, when he turns 21, I’ll give him the book — filled with memories of every year of his childhood.

Now that we’ve welcomed our little girl, I’ll be starting the same tradition for her too.

It’s something so simple, but I know one day it will mean the world to them.

This family 😍

I offer my shoots either in your home or on location, and this one was at this family’s beautiful house and surrounding fields — the most perfect setting for relaxed, natural photos.

There’s something so special about capturing families in the places that mean the most to them. ✨

✨ International Women’s Day ✨

International Women’s Day has a whole new meaning to me now that I have my little girl. Raising a daughter makes you think even more about the incredible women around us and the example we set for the next generation 🩷

So today I’m celebrating a few amazing local women-run businesses who are part of my recent Mother’s Day competition (if you haven’t entered yet… go and do it! 👀).

These are all women I use personally and recommend professionally, and I’m so lucky to work alongside them.

💄 Rayne Artistry
Rayne and I shared the same dream when we were teenagers — creating beautiful shoots together. Fast forward to now and we’re actually living it. She’s incredibly talented at what she does, and I absolutely love having my makeup done by her (and learning a few tricks along the way!).

💆‍♀️ Exmoor Massage
I’ve been going to Georgie at Exmoor Massage for over a year now and it is such a treat every time. She is honestly out of this world good at what she does and I recommend her to absolutely everyone. I was also lucky enough to photograph her wedding last year which made it even more special. 🥹

I’ve worked alongside Wendy since I first started in the wedding industry over 10 years ago 😮 She’s not only a lovely person but incredibly talented. I’ve used her personally for bouquets and recommend her to so many of my brides. She’s also creating Mother’s Day bouquets, so make sure you get your orders in!

Another lovely local business I work closely with is the Porlock Weir Hotel, and I have to give a special mention to the wonderful women there — especially Michelle. The team are always so welcoming and work incredibly hard behind the scenes to make the hotel such a special place for guests visiting the coast.
