Meet Lupin, what a distinguished gentleman he is. Lupin was seized by the RSPCA just before the COVID pandemic. He was adopted by Victoria very quickly just as lockdowns started as he was really struggling in kennels.
Victoria says "He's my little boy and my best friend. He also loves our neighbour Barry who looks after him if I go out- so he's never alone! Lupin is the happiest and most relaxed dog. He just loves to snooze and cuddle. He also loves a day helping on the allotment! We have travelled all over the UK (the beach is his fave place) and I hope that continues to a long time to come.
He's such a sweet gentle boy. I genuinely can't imagine life without him. He is also so funny and clumsy and never fails to put a smile on my face. His paw prints are on my heart.
I loved spending time with Lupin, Victoria and Barry was nice seeing their special bond. If you want to be part of this special project apply now via link via my website

Meet loveable Hugo, we met on a beautiful day at Fairhaven Lake for our shoot. Was clear how much he loved his pawrents and brother. Lucy told me “I rescued Hugo from a lovely lady and her child last October when she became too poorly to look after him.
She and her child really loved Hugo and it was so clear to tell when I picked him up. They were so emotional it was heartbreaking. Before adopting him the rescue told us that he is scared of shouting, especially men shouting and that he has been through a lot. I'm unsure of how much violence or unpredictability Hugo experienced in his life." Which is absolutely heartbreaking.
Hugo now lives with his other dog brother and lives a calm and peaceful life. Hugo isn't the most active dog and would prefer to relax on the sofa rather than be outside for too long. Hugo prefers peaceful and quiet walks where he can take his time to sniff everything. Hugo ( and his brother) get spoiled with too many treats and toys. He loves his toys even though he rips them up within seconds. Hugo came into Lucys life during a hard period and has helped her more than she could ever imagine, she says i owe a lot to him for that. A few weeks ago i went up to Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary to photograph some of their dogs. I will do a few posts to highlight some of them to see if we can get them their forever home.

First up Gru

Meet Gru, i had the pleasure of meeting and photographing him a few weeks back Gru is up for adoption, he was soo friendly and loved a cuddle. Gru is a 4 year old French bulldog. He came to Bleakholt via another shelter and unfortunately due to him originally being a stray we have no information on his life before coming in to rescue. We do know that he is a friendly boy with people and walks well on a lead and harness but he does not like other animals and will be extremely vocal. We are therefore looking for a home that has had experience with reactive dogs especially French bulldogs. Due to limited history, a pet free, adult only home in an area that is not overly populated with other dogs would suit Gru's needs the best. If you feel you can offer him the new start he richly deserves, please fill in the online application on bleakholts website
**Gru can be seen at the viewing kennels at Bleakholt**

Meet gorgeous Pip, we met on a beautiful day up at Cleveleys Beach (lets not talk about the tide, just dont ever believe what you read online about high tides lol)
Pip (originally called Peaches by RSPCA staff) was one of 5 lurcher puppies abandoned in Bullough Park in Accrington. The pups were found in a crate/box by police.
They were approx 10 to 12 weeks old when found. There were 4 females and 1 male. 3 of the pups were sent to RSPCA Hull. Pip and her sister, Ellie (now Nellie) went to the East Lancs branch. Pip was the last of the 5 to find her forever home.
Jenna told me "Pip is the most affectionate little girl. The first time we met her, at the RSPCA centre, she put both front paws around my neck and hugged me so tightly. She absolutely loves the beach, running free off lead to stretch her long lurcher legs!
She has healed our hearts. We lost our 15 year old Cocker Spaniel, Millie, 4 years ago and didn't think we could ever go through the grief again. But then we realised that we could give a dog in need a home, a decided that the rescue route was for us. So we rescued her, but really, she rescued us." Meet Bruce, Pearl and Zola who travelled all the way from Scotland for their shoot. What can i say about this lovely trio. Paula told me "although he finds life quite scary, bruce tries his best to be brave!
Despite his start to life and that we suspect hes been beaten, he absolutely adores people and loves nothing more than cuddles and bum scartches! (And food!) hes now in training to be a blood donor. He is resident wild child! Although he's not a fan of dogs he doesn't know, he loves his friends and once he's friends with a dog he remembers them for life!
Pearl came quite timid, despite being well loved she hadnt known life outside breeding and racing. She has now learned the fun of adventures and is now a pets as therapy dog. She loves a good cuddle and to snuggle up under a blanket/duvet.
Zola came to me super anxious and wary of people and life. We were told she hated the vet and wasn't keen on strangers! She's now recently retired as a blood donor having donated enough to help save over 50lives! She is also a therapy dog and loves her visits to primary schools, children's hospices and travelling Scotland for events! She loves cuddles and would rather a belly rub than a treat!
She's my number one girl and we've done a bit of everything together - including obedience (which she hated) agility (which she hated even more!) and mantrailing (which she LOVED). My verdict they are beautiful chaos had such fun with them on the shoot
and was so grateful for them travelling all that way esp when i found out what nightmare they had on their return trip! If you want to apply for the project please visit link in bio

Meet Mabel and Alfred, Alfred was rescued from a kill shelter in Romania, Danielle told me "I dont know anything about his backstory, only that he was sent to a kill shelter in Romania because of his old age. I adopted him when he was 11. They said he was very quiet and never barked or anything, When he first came he i thought he was mute. From my other dog Mabel he learnt to find his voice and barks and grumpy sighs now. He has slowly learnt cuddles although he wont stay settled for long" Alfred and Mabel were absolutely lovely and you could see how well they got on with each other. Danielle told me its a joy to see him so happy, even though he can be grumpy, hes still a loveable old man.
