I captured this image of Manhattan from Brooklyn Bridge Park.

We'd grab some food from a Deli and were chilling out before a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge.

The High Line is a 1.45-mile elevated public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan's West Side, running from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to 34th Street at Hudson Yards.

I openly admit that I didn't think this would make my top five of places we visited on our recent trip to NYC.

The care and attention that has been put into this public park is something else.

The horticulture, art works and design are superb. Then you have the dozens of viewpoints that you have onto the areas surrounding it.

We walked from Hudson Yards to 34th St then over to Soho and China Town.

Well worth visiting.

Now I didn't know this before visiting the Oculus on our visit to NYC

" The Oculus was positioned as part of the World Trade Center master plan by Daniel Libeskind and designed by Santiago Calatrava.

The structure’s white metal-clad steel ribs reach up and out in a monumental move symbolic of a hand releasing a dove.

The structure's orientation serves as a lasting reminder of the attacks of September 11, 2001. It is in alignment with the sun’s solar angles on each September 11, from 8:46 am, when the first plane struck, until 10:28 am, when the second tower collapsed. Its central skylight fits this alignment and washes the Oculus floor with a beam of light named a "Wedge of Light" that moves across the floor and illuminates two parallel columns of light at the time of the attacks of the original Twin Towers "
