More from my big birthday holiday. This is a brilliant little spot - Tarlair Cafe just on the outskirts of MacDuff. If I remember correctly it was built in the 1930s and was widely used for it's 3 outdoor swimming pools and they are currently undergoing renovations to open it up again! The architecture is wonderful and it is run by volunteers who are so friendly and knowledgeable. Food was lovely & home cooked. The rock formation is Needles Eye which is between the cafe and the car park so worth a wonder down.

After this we travelled a little further along the coast to Banff, where there's a nice beach just over the bridge that joins Banff and MacDuff. We popped into The Spotty Bag Shop for a bogle & got food in the cafe upstairs, which looks out over the beach! After the downpour that we got caught in, we headed along to Banff Marina for a walk & to see if I could spot any seals, unfortunately I didn't.

So last week on the 18th I turned 40! Dun dun duuuunnn!!! Very strange run up to this as I kept having lovely moments of realising all of my "lasts" of my 30s. Anyway my 40s started off pretty well as hubby booked this awesome wee place for us to stay for the week. More photos to come of our trips out

Great morning today - out at Stouslie to buy milkshakes and some of their meat. Then stopped at Pringles to get some bagels and donuts to have a nice picnic at the Hawick Dog Park. Mac thoroughly enjoyed himself as you can tell.

A wee glimpse into our end of year holiday in the Cairngorms. We stayed in a bothy in the woods not far from Aboyne, sadly no Bambi came to our door. We visited and had a very tasty festive baguette. We did a few nice farm shops too along with a good walk at Crathes Castle. I think we've done more walking in 5 days than the whole month combined! Safe to say, we're in love with this beautiful part of Scotland.
