Why haven’t I photographed more dogs before? I honestly don’t know. It’s a lovely thing for the summer. Like kids photography, you’ve not got long for your fast zoomies shot; after 5 mins there’s just way too much tongue! Here’s Zadie’s shoot from up on the downs last Sunday.

Photo shoots in the woods in full leaf can be a nightmare; blobs of dappled light on faces, and just way too much green everywhere.

Everything fell into place here. For starters the family was pretty chilled to let the photo shoot unfold and see what we got. Mercifully there was no sun, just the softest early morning light which suited these particular kids in this woodland setting. And there were bluebells to pull the eye away from the dominant green, (although Hello-black-and-white-friend where I couldn’t avoid it).
