💡 I recently learned about a concept called the ‘glass ball theory’ that really changed how I think about balance.
The idea is pretty simple.
You’re juggling a lot of balls - your photography business, your kids, your relationship, the house, your friendships, your health, and (let’s be honest) whatever’s left of your sense of self at the end of the day.
But not every ball is made of glass.
Some balls are plastic. If you drop them, they bounce back. The inbox that can wait until tomorrow. The lens cap you still haven’t found. The reel you didn’t post. The kitchen that looks like a strong wind got the better of it. The client email you’ll get to in the morning.
The glass balls are different. Your health. Your kids. Your relationship. Your peace of mind. The parts of your life that don’t just bounce back if you let them shatter.
💛 Here’s the thing nobody told us: you were never supposed to keep every ball in the air at once.
You only need to remember which ones are glass.
So on the days when your editing is behind, your desktop is a dog’s breakfast, and you haven’t posted in a week... before you spiral into ‘I’m failing at everything,’ ask yourself: did I protect the glass ones today?
Because all that other stuff can wait. Promise.
Your business will still be there tomorrow. And so will you (which is actually the most important part).
If something has to drop today, let it be plastic.
You’re doing a better job than you think, lady! 🫶🏻
📌 Save this for the days it doesn’t feel that way.
