Only a month until the new 2026-27 season is here, looking forward to seeing members old and new, I have attached the programme for the season below and it looks excellent, thank you Pat for your efforts 📷

A few of our members are also putting together a monthly field trip for the new season, meeting at the Griffin after the opening night, all welcome 📷

Unfortunately we could not carry out the annual BBQ due to health issues that have since been resolved 🥳 📷

Instead we have invited the Mayor, Cllr Andrew Woollard, to the Wordsworth Room at March Library on Thursday 24th September to present our trophies in lieu of the annual BBQ. Everyone is welcome, please enter via the rear entrance near the river 📷

We are looking forward to another successful year at the club and if you are enjoying holding a camera or a phone and feel you would like to be part of a club please get in touch 📷

We are proud to be holding an exhibition in March Library from Wednesday 23rd September to Wednesday 7th October, please come along to view our members images 📷

4 of our club members headed to the Snetterton race track today for the Super Bikes practice race day. The sun shone, new techniques were learnt and they bumped into fellow photographers from Ely Camera Club 📸

Let's hope they got some superb shots for the new season starting in September of the actual super bikes and not just the tarmac, those bikes are fast🏍️ 😀📸

On the day of the week that the Club meets when in season seems fitting to celebrate the results of the Annual Print Competition held in April 2026.

We welcomed a familiar friend to the club to judge the Annual Print entries, Judge Jonathan Vaines LRPS CPAGB AFIAP and he definitely had a full night on his hands with 6 different categories to Judge and some strong competition 📸

This year we once again entered the annual East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies (EAF) Competition 📸

The club as a whole got 7 Projected Digital Images accepted into the exhibition 📸

One member had 💯 success of having 4 out of his 4 digital entries accepted 🥳 well done Roger Newark 📸

Nigel Lucas, David Hodgson and Amy Fox also had success with all having 1 image accepted into the exhibition 📸

I have shown the exhibited images below with their Author's names and points scored out of 20 📸

If you would like to visit the exhibition, it opened this weekend and runs until Sunday 17th May 📸

The exhibition is being held at The Apex, 1 Charter Square, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 3FD and it is always well worth a visit 📸

Delayed post, on the 9th April the Club enjoyed their Annual Print Competition with Judge Jonathan Vaines LRPS CPAGB AFIAP visiting on the night to give his best feedback to all entries and to pick his 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all categories and the top overall winners, thank you Jonathan, that was not an easy task 👏🏻 📸

With 6 different categories in which to shine, it was a tough job for Judge Paul Radden with 132 entries to Judge on the night, it was bound to be a late bedtime 📸

Delayed post, on Thursday 26th March we enjoyed a presentation from one our clubs long standing members John Band, entitled 'Gypsy Life' 📸

John has followed the travelling community for years, photographing various fairs including the iconic Appleby Fair in Cumbria 📸

In 2024 John collaborated with Chatteris Museum and One Voice 4 Travellers and a book was published to document the exploration of a hidden history of Chatteris and it's District 📸

A delayed post, Thursday 12th March we had guest speaker Jonathan Vaines telling us of the importance of working with projects 📸

He uses his photography to help with mental well being 📸

He spoke about his thought processes, and how he executes his images, mainly using in camera multiple exposures and blend modes 📸

He brought a selection of his finely executed prints for us to examine 📸

There is currently an exhibition at St Wendredras Church in March called 'Water Worlds' it has run from last Saturday 7th March and will continue to run until 1pm on Saturday 14th March 📸

The Club is proud to be a part of this local celebration of creativity and have set up an exhibition of prints that relate to the 'Water World' theme 📸

We have exhibited a total of 37 prints, 25 landscape orientations and 12 in portrait 📸

Please pop along to have a look if you haven't already done so, I have attached a couple of images of our offering below 👇🏻 📸

Thank you to everyone that provided the prints and thank you to Nick and Carl for organising the exhibition and those that have helped to set up and volunteered to take it down too 👏🏻📸
