ANTONIA & TOM

I delivered Antonia & Tom’s beautiful gallery this week and thought I’d share some of their details.

I love details because they’re such a personal reflection of the couple. From the flowers and table settings to the little touches that tell their story, every choice helps bring their vision to life and makes their wedding uniquely theirs. I especially love the last slide as it’s of two gifts that their friends made; a crochet version of their cat and a hand-carved stool. So thoughtful.

Items like these hold so much meaning and are part of what makes the day so special. Plus, after all the thought, time and love that goes into planning a wedding, I think the details deserve their moment in the spotlight too.

RACHAEL & CRAIG

This was the first wedding of the year that really felt like autumn. There was a definite chill in the air and the leaves have started to turn, which was especially beautiful at The Oak Tree Of Peover. Surrounded by trees now dressed in gorgeous golden hues, this fabulous venue looks even more magical when the sun catches them. We also got the most beautiful light for the couple’s portraits during golden hour.

Inside, the venue had been beautifully dressed by Flossie's Weddings & Occasions and I absolutely loved the dusky pinks and deep reds Rachael chose.

With the sun setting earlier now, the venue quickly shifted from golden light to candlelight, as everyone enjoyed the delicious meal. It was the most perfect autumnal atmosphere.

Rachael & Craig, huge congratulations to you both. What a beautiful day!

SARAH & BRICE

I was so excited to return to the absolutely stunning Mulberry House for Sarah & Brice’s wedding this weekend.

It may have been early October but we were very lucky with the weather, with a surprisingly sunny and warm day that meant we could make the most of the beautiful grounds for both family photos and portraits.

The couple and their families are seriously talented when it comes to making things and their creativity was woven through so many details of the day.

Firstly, Sarah made their super impressive three year cake! I’ve make a few cakes in my time and have so much appreciation for the skill involved in their beautiful wedding cake. 😍

The couple also made a super spicy and very delicious hot sauce which was gifted to guests as their wedding favours.

Now onto the wedding dress(es). Sarah’s mum is a seamstress and when Sarah brought home two wedding dresses, she gladly altered both so Sarah had a choice on the day, depending on which one was more comfortable.

And finally, Sarah’s dad hand carved their beautiful wooden ring box!

I also loved the bridesmaids’ dresses. Patterned bridesmaid dresses aren’t something you see every day but these were absolutely perfect alongside the flowers and looked so beautiful in the sunshine.

The day was such a collective labour of love and all those little details made the wedding feel completely personal to the couples and their family.

Sarah & Brice, huge congratulations to you both. I hope you’re having the most wonderful time on honeymoon.

2027 AVAILABILITY UPDATE

First of all, a huge thank you to all of my wonderful couples who have already booked me for 2027. I genuinely can’t wait to photograph your weddings and am so excited for each and every one.

To ensure that I can give every couple the time and attention that you deserve, I only take on a certain number of weddings each month.

I’ve had a flurry of enquiries recently and some months are now getting quite limited. I’m afraid I also can’t secure your date in my diary until your deposit has been paid.

So, if you’re getting married in 2027 and have been thinking about enquiring, here’s how many more weddings I can take…

SIÂN & NATHANIAL

The beautiful Mulberry House was the perfect location for Siân & Nathanial’s big day. They’d been hoping for an outdoor ceremony and, considering we’re now in autumn, we couldn’t have been luckier with the weather.

During bridal prep, Nathanial gave Siân the most thoughtful gift. A few years ago, she wrote her very own children’s book about a little creature called Snout and Nathanial found a way to turn this tiny protagonist into a real life toy. Siân had no idea and it was such a gorgeous surprise.

The surprises didn’t end there. When the guests entered the reception room for the wedding breakfast, there was a wall of envelopes waiting for them. Each one contained a handwritten letter for one of their guests. Clearly they’d written some lovely things because, as they were read, there were lots of smiles and a few tears too.

The day continued with his and hers cocktails and plenty of time on the dance floor. With Nathanial on the drums, the band played into the late evening.

It was a day filled with thoughtful surprises, an abundance of blooms and an excellent party. Huge congratulations to you both, here’s to many more celebratory cocktails together.

THE ZOO

I did something a little different yesterday. I joined The Society of Photographers for a wildlife workshop at Chester Zoo led by the lovely and hugely talented Terry Donnelly. Sony UK & Ireland popped along too and were kind enough to load us some of their newest kit for the day.   As I’m going on safari in South Africa next year, I needed to figure out which wildlife lens I should buy, so this was an awesome opportunity to try some out. Just this week, Sony launched the FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS lens and incredibly, it weighs less than 1kg. I had a feeling this might be the lens for me as my wedding lenses give me a sore wrist and hand luggage limits on smaller flights cause issues with heavy kit.

I am still very excited that I got my hands on it so soon after the launch. I was also right, it’s epic and I must buy one. I used this lens all day, alongside the A9 iii (another future purchase) and am so impressed. It was a touch too long for a zoo environment but I think it will be perfect in Kruger next year as the animals will be much further away.

Huge thanks to all of the teams involved. It was such a brilliant day and I think I may have found myself a new but rather expensive hobby. Very excited to go and capture some animals in the wild.

Also, huge thanks to PGYTECH UK for offering some prizes as a fun incentive. I absolutely love my new camera bag.
