Wow, what a day. The Bury Hospice Strictly dancing 2026 Afternoon Tea Dance and Final. Now in its eighth year and raising over £100,000 for the Hospice with more donations still coming in. Organised by Best Foot Forward led by Deborah Lisle and her team of volunteers the event was magnificently staged and highly professional.
Dancers with little or no dancing experience volunteered to compete and trained for twelve weeks prior to the day during their spare time.
Held at Holy Cross College for the first time this year brought their largest event to date with 600 guests across the two shows. With the larger space came facilities from the college such as theatrical lighting and sound making the whole experience a day to remember.
This is the first time I have been involved and had the pleasure to photograph the whole event and to hear the work of the Hospice which in nothing short of amazing with the loving care that both in-patients and out-patients receive.
With a perfect ten from all the judges the couple lifted the glitter ball at the end of the evening to the applause of their fellow dance mates and volunteers.
