[PR Visit]
We had the most fabulous day LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester today. Aidan, and his good friend Arthur, had a blast on the awesome rides, watching films in the 4D cinema, exploring MINILAND and building, building, BUILDING!
They even entered a very exciting competition! 🎉 LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is on the hunt for the UK's Mini Master Model Builder! 🎉 Do you know a child that's got what it takes? If so head to LEGOLAND Manchester or Birmingham on the weekends of 28th & 29th January, 4th & 5th February or during February half term. Build something awesome to submit for judging, and see if you could be crowned the UK's Mini Master Model Builder. The UK's winner will receive a £500 voucher to spend in the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Store, a Gold Merlin Annual Pass for the whole family and have your final build displayed in MINILAND until the end of the year!
Aidan and Arthur both decided to build houses, gardens and cars to enter into the competition and they had the best day enjoying everything LEGOLAND Discovery Centre had to offer. Head to or for an incredible day that the whole family can enjoy 😆

And just like that…he’s 8!
The years are flying and my baby is now a mini teenager, who calls me ‘Dude’ and ‘Bruh’ 😂 because I didn’t feel old enough already!
To our wonderful Aidan on your 8th birthday. Your happiness and enormous heart lights up the lives of everyone who knows you. You are the kindest human I have ever met and you continue to make mummy and daddy so incredibly proud. You really are the best Christmas present we could ever have asked for!
We love you more than words could ever express Squidge. Happiest of birthdays our darling boy.

11 days - how?
In the post before last I was telling you all how we were living through a renovation, how I’d done no Christmas or birthday shopping and how stressed I was. Well it got worse…we all got covid. We’d managed to escape it for the last few years and suddenly when we’re at our limit - it strikes! We had to cancel Aidan’s birthday party, as both Duncan and I were testing positive. Aidan was understandably devastated ☹️ But we have rearranged for early January. I was bed ridden for several days and certainly not looking as comfy as I am here cuddled up with Heidi. Builders, tilers, electricians coming and going with windows and doors wide open so it was colder in the house than outside 🥶 All the while, I’m looking my worst, dressed in pjs, wandering aimlessly, looking lost in my own home. Now there are 9 days until Aidan’s birthday and 11 until Christmas and I am in the same predicament I was just over a week ago. No shopping done, not a single Christmas card written and ultimately not ready in the slightest. If I write to Santa now, do you think he can deliver Christmas for me?! I’ve been a good girl 🤪

Excitement is building for this little man. Both his birthday and Christmas are coming at me at 100 miles an hour and I’m not ready, AT ALL! We’re currently living through a renovation, which has had several setbacks, and my house looks like a bomb has gone off. Literally. Aidan is camping in our room as the renovation caused problems to one of his bedroom walls, which had to be stripped back to bare brick. Our entire bathroom had to be sent back because it didn’t fit, which was NOT OUR FAULT 😒 It’s a lot right now. Aidan’s bday party is this weekend. Then his actual birthday is 2 days before Christmas. I’ve done no birthday or Christmas shopping and considering I am always finished shopping and all wrapped by now - I’m freaking out!!! Send help!
The trick is to look calm on the outside 😂 let the boy wonder think I have everything under control 😬

We love books in this house and enjoying reading a book together is special family time, especially when you’re snug and cosy! Aidan and I have been reading Everything Under The Sun by from It’s a fascinating read, full of curious questions like - Why does an octopus have three hearts? And Aidan’s favourite so far… Why does snot come out when we cry? 😂 There is a question for everyday of the year - asked and answered, and honestly, I’ve learnt so much!!
